Has anyone sampled this yet? Â*I did see it in Filene's today but no tester was available. Gosh every celeb is launching a scent now. Â*I do recall they great portion of his proceeds are going to charity.

======*update*
Carlos Santana for Men:
Multi-Grammy Award winning Carlos Santana moves beyond his infections rhythms of Latin, R&B, and Jazz musical creations to bring you his newest fragrance creation, Carlos Santana for Men.
This smooth woody musk fragrance was inspired by the music and passions of Carlos Santana. The aroma just after rainfall in a combination with the clean notes of MAJA soap is the essence of this timeless creation.
Carlos Santana for Men blends top notes of Bergamot, Lavender Sprigs, and Apple and gives the fragrance a unique signature. The added dimension of Cedar Wood, Sandalwood and Patchouli creates and intoxicating, sexy heart to this scent. The blending of Vanilla, Musk and Tonka Beans finish this fragrance with a uniquely rich background.
The bottle, designed by Henry de Monclin of Atliers Dinand and manufactured by Saint-Gobain Desjonqueres (SGD) is a rich ruby red, with a soft silhouette of CarlosÂs guitar molded into the glass. The silver cap blends the brushed and shiny metals of Carlos jewelry.
Carlos Santana Cologne for Men Warm, Contemporary, Classical Fragrance.

Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin, Lavender Sprigs, Cinnamon Bark, Apple
Middle Notes: MAJA Accord, Sandalwood, Cypress Wood, Cedar Wood, Patchouli

Must resist obvious joke that it smells like marijuana...

It's sweet, smells a little like Xeryus Rouge, but doesn't have much bottom to it, and is almost cinnamony, as if it were one of those "red hot" tamale candies. It's not bad, in my opinon, but not very different either. I guess it could make a good gift, or if you found it on a drastic sale. Basically sums up the past few months of new fragrances: boring.

Now if it had smelt like bong water... [smiley=beer.gif]

Good gawd.

Next thing you know, you're gonna see Michael Jackson releasing a fragrance.

Thanks for the thoughts on this. Sounds a little interesting.

Well I tried a sample of Carlos Santa and thought it was to sweet for me. It reminded my of another scent that I tried, called Hanae Mori and I can't stand that either. Very sweet and makes me sick just like Angel for men.

I immediately thought of Le Male's bottle. [smiley=huh.gif]

It was predicted by the Fragrance Foundations that Celeb scents would be big in the comming years and they are right.

Darn the designers are jumping on the "Black" trend so why would not the fragrance companys want to join the trend and tag a celeb name to a new scent.

Personally it does not bother me for for these people have really nothing to do with the scent at all only their name is sold to be on the bottle.

I REALLY like this one....so much so I just picked it up at Sephora at lunch.
Opens fruity (Guava I suppose) and spicy then smooths out to a Guava/vanilla or something...really uniqe IMO

I tried this one yesterday and liked it. It's somewhere between Dolce & Gabanna By Man and SL Un Bois Sepia

hmmm, I'm getting a somewhat fruity Black Code with hints of Chic...not bad, not earth-shattering...wearable... ...good, actually, and I like the leather and Maja soap notes...

will need to test this again, but I'm pleasantly surprised.

Reminds me of a citrus JOOP! Homme. Just tested it yesterday...evolution is rather quick and dries down to very sweet and warm notes. I thought of it as good though, it's as if Joop has come to the 21st century to rock! 8-)
