Which bottle do you think is most nicely designed? (Me, I vote for Etiquette Bleue (D'Orsay).)
I have to say Bulgari Black. Both the name and the bottle fits the scent more than any other scent I've ever tried.

You have good taste! Those D'Orsay bottles are gorgeous and a work of art in themselves. I have a bottle of D'Orsay's Arome 3, which comes in the same bottle as Etiquette Bleue. Love the way they feel so heavy in the hand.

Two other bottles that I really like are:

- the traditional Trumper's bottle with frosted glass and the crown stopper - very elegant-looking; and

- the Eau de Rochas Pour Homme bottle - heavy glass with a crazed, cracked appearance and texture. Nice bit of modern design, that conveys a feeling of frenzy.

The first one that came to my mind was Guerlain's Vétiver, though there are some others that fall as the rain if I close my eyes and think...
I think this was done recently.

My favourites are:

Boucheron Jaipur - metal case
A*men - metal case
Givenchy Pi
Opium EDP
Gucci Pour Homme

I prefer the house bottle concept. Especially examples by:

L'Artisan Parfumeur
Creed
Caron (PuH, Yatagan, 3eme Homme)
Lorenzo Villoresi
Etro
Diptyque.

House bottles I don't like are those by:
MPG
SL export line
Givenchy (nice flask bottle, but the black cap looks cheap and inferior)
Caswell-Massey

Yang and Antaeus. I also like the design of the Black Cashmere bottle, but it loses points because there is no way to stand it up.

It's a toss up

Gucci Pour Homme
Dior Pour Homme

I really like the new Dior Homme bottle design ... with that little metal tube in the middle and stuff...

But my all-time fave because of it's uniqueness ... the juice as well as the bottle ... has to be DK Men.

Pi - Givenchy
Gucci - pour homme
Gucci - Envy
Quasar - Jesus del Pozo

LOL! I know ....

.... the real bottle ;D

Nemo by Cahcharel all the way for me, the only reason I still have it in my collection is because it is a sleek beautiful piece of art representing the 'Y' chromosome I suppose

I also like the bottle of On El, even though impractical, the frosted green tall bottle is bueatiful.

Creed bottles are nice and elegant.

I too love this one. Nemo's bottle is unique and appealing--a sleek black enigma with the "Nemo" in just ever so slightly less black (more gray) lettering. An objet d'art!

And the Different Company bottles are excellent design examples as well along the lines of the Dior Pour Homme bottle. The concentric stacked discs that make up the metal caps set off the heavy square glass bottles. And don't forget they come in their own little black leather covers. Very fetish.

I'm not going to play a "sophisticate" but I'd use some nominations:

Old-school classic - Signoricci (a perfect one by Lalique)
Contemporary classic - all pre-Allure Chanel's (both Pour Monsieur's, Antaeus and both Egoiste's)
Art Deco (well, sort of) - Jaipur Homme EDP (metal one)
Mainstream - Gucci Envy FM or Montblanc Presence
Alternative (rectangular/cubic, say, "anti-bottles&quot - Gucci PH / Michael FM / M7
Avantgarde - DK Men and Comme des Garcons (soap-bar likes: EDP, 2, 3)

Special prize - Coriolan (it's just brilliant)

Regards, Odor.
Salvador by Salvador Dali - frosted bottle along the edges, stained glass effect front and back with indented design in the middle of the bottle - very different.

A*Men by far... The way you put the bottle in the metal case and then you see the shape of the womens angel standing out is an amazing idea...
I like a lot of those previously mentioned.

Quasar
Gucci PH
Kenzo PH
Romeo Gigli
the (new) Hermes bottles
I like some of the ones already meantioned: Yang, M7,A*men and CDG

other nice ones:

Givenchy Pour Homme
and The Versace bottle are nice as well, Man, Dreamer the jeans line
post #27 of 76
Not for the first prize, but from those I own ,I prefer the bottle of Boss Elements.
The texture of the waves in the lower end fits well with the TV ad: "When was the last time you felt all the elements?
I'm a big fan of simple, square or round bottles. Diptyque, the limited edition Diors and most of the CdGs. Another favourite is Burberry Brit! You can spot from miles away that it's a Burberry and still it is very elegant and understated.
Givenchy Pi
Guerlain Vetiver
Salvatore Ferragamo Subtil
Being a fan of minimalism, I really love the Frederic Malle bottles, especially the typography.
It hasn't been mentioned yet so I'll chime in with Paco XS. You have to love that Zippo lighter concept.

The worst bottle by far has to be Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce. :-/
post #32 of 76
I really like the bottles of Azzaro Visit, Creed SMW, and M7
post #33 of 76
Nice bottles in my collection:

M7, PI Fraiche, Gucci PH, Opium PH EDP, Sud Est, HM, Obsession for men, Brit for men, Escada PH.

My favorite? Opium PH EDP...one BADASS bottle!! [smiley=evil.gif]

The corniest/cheesiest? Animale! Â*[smiley=tongue.gif]
I like Guerlain's classic bottles. Simple, minimalistic and gives a good grip.

But if you're talking about beauty,
Dior Homme
Givenchy Pi(especially the one with blue juice, Fraiche. There's a green coloured one on the market)
L'instant de Guerlain pour Homme
Guerlain Imperiale
Guerlain Vetiver(new)
Burberry Brit for Men
Kenzo Pour Homme, Pi, Aqva, KenzoAir, Lolita Lempicka,...
Bvlgari Black - never even tried the scent (though I plan to) but love the bottle
Givenchy Pi
Dunhill 2003 - Not all that revolutionary (for lack of better word) like the other two, but classy and the lid has a nice solid heft to it
post #37 of 76
I also nominate The Different Company's bottle; it just oozes class!

On the other hand, I just can't imagine how anyone can nominate Opium EDP with all that cheap looking plastic :-?
The scent however, is just pure bliss.
I love the large L'Artisan bottles, Serge Luten's bell bottles and Jicky in parfum. Liu's art deco bacelite bottle was beautiful too.
NU...so modern!
I must second Scentsationals mention of Frederic Malle!

The new Dior Homme bottle is also very nice!
One I forgot was Cristobal for men.
Ultraviolet man
Annick Goutal bottles for men, the straight, clean edge.
212 Men
The Different Company!
I like the house bottles. Guerlain, Annick Goutal, Comptoir Sud Pacifique. But the best of all is Aqua di Parma's big bottle. Simple and elegant. Very nice!
I'm thinking the 4.25 oz OLD SPICE bottle.

When you take your wet Reeboks out of the washing machine, nothing helps them to hold their shape while drying like slipping an OLD SPICE bottle in each shoe.

I don't think there are too many Martha Stewarts around here who have access to OLD SPICE bottles...

Honorable Mention: GUERLAIN VETIVER. One of the cats knocked bottle off dresser. A lot of perfume containers would have shattered. To quote W.C. Fields: Who hasn't experienced the tragedy of a broken bottle? But VETIVER was unfazed. And it is clear glass - easy to know when it time to re-order. Side profile of bottle is pretty cool - cantilevered slabs of glass.
I like the simple bottles of Dyptique too. I also like Marc Jacobs for its simple lines and the heavy feel in the hand it has.

My Top 5 would be...
1. Guerlain Vetiver
2. Nemo by Cacharel
3. Pasha by Cartier
4. Boucheron pour Homme
5. Kenzo Air
I love plain, apothecary style bottles:
My favorites:
Helmut Lang
Serge Lutens Bell Jars
But, I'm also in love with Guerlain's beauties. The Norrell bottle is also pretty good.
Here's a photo I took of some of them:

Any Penhaligon's bottle but especially the one's for Blenheim Bouquet and Hammam Bouquet. The understated elegance of these bottles is staggering. I also quite like the elegant simplicity of the 250/500/1000ml Creed bottles, especially the 250ml one since it seems to be the most balanced version.

Thick, heavy glass, with glass stoppers also.

Real shame you don't see much of these anymore.

It goes to Killian's Taste Of Heaven. (Though I've never worn it)
YSL L'Homme and St Dupont Noir... great bottles.
I agree with already suggested bottles. And would like to add:

Lagerfeld Man 2003
Givenchy Very Irresistible and PH
Narciso Rodriguez
YSL Rive Gauche
Hermes Bel Ami
L'eau d'Issey Bleu
Fleur du Male
Yohji
Shiseido Basala
Salvatore Ferragamo
guess I'm a fan of the traditional, or the conservative; I like the Creed 2.5oz bottles far more than the 4oz. Even the caps that some people have said are cheap... I like the bevelled aspect to the edges.

the Santa Maria Novella bottles are gorgeous, also. Those labels!

my all time favorite, though, for intrinsic as well as nostalgic reasons, would have to be the Acqua di Parma Colonia. just doesn't get any more classic than that, I'd say.
Givenchy - red/ Blue label bottle- thing looks like a door handle of a Jag
Nemo- Y shaped bottle- who came up with that?
Jaipur - EDP bottle
Terra D' Hermes- nice twist on the sprayer
post #57 of 76
The Hugh Parsons bottles are very nice and have a nice hefty, solid metal cap that snaps on very snugly. HP bottles are similar to Creed bottles.

I also like Penhalgons bottle style, and the cap is clever, but I wish it were real glass. I love the colors in the Douro ribbon and label. I'd love a tie like that!

Dior Homme and Terre d'Hermes can't go without mention as well.

As far as I know the idea for that bottle came from a sculptor.

I don't really like that scent but Diesel Zero Plus has a very interesting bottle.
The Regina Harris perfume oils, have beautiful bottles:

Also, Black Amber

I also like Profumum, FM, By Kilian (also the stunning case!) bottles, along with the Dior Cologne bottles and the Tom Ford 250ml Jars. Le Labo is somewhat appealing too
post #60 of 76
I enjoy any bottles that are simple. Classic rectangular & square shapes

I also like the Serge Lutens bell jars, L'Artisan newer style bottles (not the ugly old ones)
