Has anyone tried Azzaro Onyx yet?

I thought I saw a thread about this one recently, but my search came up empty.

Just curious if anyone has tried this one ... since I just got my Macy's circular and they advertise it.

Just curious ...

I believe I posted on this one under a thread called Carlos Santana. Â*I found Onxy very diffrent a return to a very old school type scent. To me its Rive Gauche Pour Homme done much better.Â*Too bad on my skin it releases a very harsh patchouli note. :P

Onyx in the USA = Azzaro Silver Black in Europe.

It's called Onyx only in the United States and Canada. Elsewhere in the world it's Silver Black.

In other words, Onyx and Silver Black are exactly the same scent.

Tried it, not liking it.

It's nothing new really, a heavy cologne for a night out, but the salesperson helping me thought it was the best thing ever.

Wow, Azzaro Onyx (as it is called in the States, apparently) is awesome! When I had tried some
on my skin, I was struck by its evolution from a slightly citrus-spicy thing to a more spicy one to a musky, spicy, amber-type scent. It is definitely a masculine scent worthy of attention, hearkening back to more classic fragrances of the past. I liked this one so much that I also bought the deodorant, which by itself exudes a sexy essence! Highly recommended.

I stopped my Macy's today and also picked it up. A saleswoman was spritzing everyone with it so I asked if she could apply it to the back of my hand instead of the card. I told her I wanted to walk around and see how it reacted to my skin. Quite a change from the topnotes to the drydown. At first spray, it smells like it's going to be a citrusy, daytime scent. But it dries down very spicy and ... just a bit ... metallic. The drydown reminds me a bit of L'Anarchiste.

I'm not sure it's going to be as well liked here as Visit, but I think Azzaro has another winner here.

I also smelled it briefly at a Macys last night.

I thought it had potential. I'll have to return and give it more of a chance.

To my nose it's exactly like what happen if you mixed Xeryus with Xeryus Rouge.

I gave it away to someone I don't hang out with. Like Azzaro Chrome, I really don't want to hang out with these 2.

It's all right and i own it but I like others in the line much more.

Like it, Silver Black that is. One of the better cheapies.

Onyx is awesome. I think it's Azzaro's take on all the black fragrances(Polo Black ect), but it's the best one I have tried yet.

Whoa, old thread! But this one is kind of a diamond in the rough for me. I picked up a big bottle of Silver Black at TJ Maxx for cheap. First sprayed reminded me completely of Aqua Net hairspray, which had me worried. The alcohol and chemical smell quickly settles into spicy citrus and warm clove/cinnamon/allspice notes which I really enjoy. I thought I had originally made a big mistake in this blind buy, but it turned out nicely.

Silver Black, supposed Onyx, is an excellent fragrance!

Personally, I wouldn't bathe a mangey cat in this crap, nor in Acteur for that matter.

Too soapy for me. I gave mine away to a fellow BNer.
