Need help with blind date fragrance!!

Hello guys and gals,
I have recently became single again and will be going on a blind date tomorrow night with a 28 year old physician's assistant who I really want to impress. We had a really good phone conversation so I'm not nervous but I really want to stand out and not seem like some ordinary boring guy if you know what I mean. I'm 29 years old myself and will be wearing a white button down A&F shirt with khaki pants and brown belt/shoes--I tell you this to let you know that it will be a casual environment. Anyway, I want to wear a fragrance that will leave an impression without giving us a headache because it has been really, really hot lately and I have somewhat oily skin that seems to magnify most fragrances. I have narrowed the choices down to these few but if you want to check my wardrobe and recommend something else then feel free. Thanks!

Lanvin L'homme
Estee Lauder Pleasures
Creed MI
Very Sexy 2
Creed GIT
John Varvatos
Romance Silver
A&F Fierce
TM Cologne
Azzaro Visit
Dolce & Gabbana pour homme
Chic for men
212 Men
Calvin Klein Truth for men
Polo Blue
Bvlgari pour homme Extreme

Azzaro Visit. Most definitely. You will stand out by not having a mainstream aqua scent, and woodsy scents tend to make people feel at ease. Casual, yet chic. Hopefully your date will be thinking "wow this guy's different. I could snuggle up to that." In any event, choose something that makes you confident, and shows that you're different from the rest.

Be easy on the trigger finger

Good luck!

Yea I'll agree with going for something a little different, I have a first date tonight and am going with Cuiron. It's pleasant enough not to offend, but stands out a bit. I'll second Visit or Varvatos.

How about a good old bottle of self confidence? Beats anything in any wardrobe.

This is always a difficult decision, because you want to express your personality, but don't want to risk offending someone of unknown tastes. But that's the basic dilemma in making a first impression of any kind.

Of the ones on your list and in your wardrobe that I know, I would be choosing between:

Visit
Burberry Brit
D&G PH

and maybe Varvatos, which I've only tested.

Edit: I have no problem wearing Visit or Brit in hot weather, but YMMV.

Hope this helps.

Mmmm, not sure they sell that yet, hon.

Besides, I'm sure that he's looking for something to wear in ADDITION to a healthy dose of home mixed self confidence, not instead of.

I'd skip the Romance Silver since you said you're looking to stand out. Personally I don't mind the stuff, I think it's fairly pleasant, but it's definitely not stand out material.

My votes are for Creed MI, D&G, & Polo Blue. Done in moderation, of course. For first dates, I wear my fragrances like I do for work, because you never know, she may be allergic to frags.

Thanks for the input and advice!! You know lazycalm is correct with the self-confidence assertion but I don't have a problem with that---I like who I am on the inside and if it weren't for a little thinning on top of the head I would be satisfied with my outer appearance. LOL Anyway, it looks like my cooler weather favorites are leading so far and all I'll have to do is be light on the trigger as a few of you have already said. Here's a little play on words as to what I hope happens.

A first date Visit mixed with some Truth, Romance, and Fierce confidence with a light application of Cologne with a cool Chic who is Very Sexy 2 is one of life's greatest Pleasures.

Another vote for visit, just picked it up via trade and I love the smell!

In regards to the thinning hair, you can do what I just did and shave your head. Women do like the bald look

For hot weather I wouldn't recommend Visit or D&G PH as those might come off a little strong, especially since you said your skin magnifies fragrances. Being that you're in a casual environment, I would wear something light although not aquatic. My vote is for MI. It would be in my top 3 for casual dates if only my skin didn't rip it to shreds. Yours seems like it would hold it rather well though. Hope this helps and good luck!

Recommend light spray of Gucci Envy or Creed SMW.
