Davidoff has a Silver Shadow

After Cool Water and Echo, the Lancaster Group-owned Davidoff fragrance brand is building a third pillar with mens fragrance Silver Shadow. We expect it to enter the top-15 ranking worldwide and the top-10 in our main markets, Lancaster Group senior vice president of marketing, fragrances Françoise Mariez tells Cosmeticnews.com.

Silver Shadow, which targets men over 35, will be supported by a multi-media campaign, created by the Select agency, comprising TV spots (20, 15, 10 and 5) and press visuals (single and double pages). Part of the media planning will involve specialized support such as stock pages in daily newspapers where fragrances usually do not advertise. Visuals, shot by black-and-white master Peter Lindbergh, feature American model Matt Norklun.

The woody oriental scent, conceived by Francis Kurkdjian of Quest International, starts with bitter orange and cedar leaves, while its heart mixes cedar wood and saffron, and the drydown includes patchouli and amber. The Pure Blend EdT has the same structure with two main ingredients added: cinnamon leaves in the top and Benzoin in the base.

The scent comes in a simple rectangular bottle made of three blocks of glass and created by Thierry de Baschmakoff (Aesthète).

The line will launch in September in Europe and Asia, followed by the US one year later.

Francis Kurkdjian again. Could be a good sign, he did Le Male, Gaultier², Guerlain's exclusive Cuir Beluga, Armani Mania and Aqua di Parma's Iris Nobile.

It's nice to see that Francis Kurkdjian is getting in the picture again, these days, besides the much mentioned (and slightly overrated) Jean Claude Elena .Â*I admit I amire his creations. He made Gaultiers "Le Male" at an age of 24 I believe? Â*one of his first creations. After that, Armani's Mania for men, Joops Muse and now Â*Gaultiers new one , Dior hommes Eau Noire, and now the new Davidoff.

I am liking the idea of two diffrent strenghts in the scent too! The pure blend sounds a little more deeper, kind of what YSL did with Opium Pour Homme the edp having more deep feel with added Oriental Amber.

Sounds like a winner.
