EXCLUSIVE NEW RALPH LAUREN POLO BLACK

Thread Starter
This fall Ralph Lauren introduces a new member to the Polo family. Ralph Lauren Polo Black promises to be a warm and masculine scent. The bottle is the same shape as the Polo green bottle just a deep jet black with a gold cap and gold Polo pony log. The product will be in stores in August. (There will also be a new ladies Ralph Lauren fragrance launching this Christmas called Turquoise, it is housed in a deep blue bottle and I hear the juice is a sweet floral vaguely reminsent of Angel).

You heard it here first!

Thanks for the 411! I thought Blue was pretty decent. The only RL frag I own, though, is Crest.

I've owned RL's Romance Silver for a while, but it just doesn't do it for me.

It's time that RL go back to full-bodied colognes, like Polo green. I hope Polo black is it.

Btw, anyone have Polo green up for swap?

I like Polo Green, I love Polo Blue, i guess Polo Black will be at least as good as its decendents

I was told by my L'Oreal rep yesterday that the advertising for Polo Black will have a long-haired Venezuelan soccer player as the model. She said a more "urban"--whatever that means--and "international" themed marketing approach was desired with this product. That quite a change from the white-bread, all-American, summers-in-the-Hamptons Polo advertising to which we've all become accustomed.

Anyone know who this Venezuelan soccer player might be???

It should be, the Polo black suits are extremely well cut!

I always love the classic Polo Green bottle. I am glad to see the new scent will mirror it.

This sounds really good so Thanks for the link Grant! This is hopefully not another suede scent but it sounds like a green, coniferous scent. I cannot wait!!!

Hopefully it will not have the pathetic duration of Ralph's last scent...I sort of liked Purple Label for its mix of berry and tobacco, but to charge those prices and have the scent last maybe an hour or two was awful. I still think Polo Crest was the finest in the Polo family of scents.
