I am wearing Ambra today, and two days in a row for Etro.

Ambra: bergamot, lemon, coriander, geranium, patchouli, cistus ladaniferus, vanilla, musk, amber.

This is one of my favorite soft ambers.

The notes for Mahogany, which I sampled yesterday with great delight, are as follows: Bergamot, Marjoram, Cypress, Clove, Cumin, Pepper, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Vanilla, Musk, & Amber.

me too! Its a shame it was discontinued, but my bottle should last indefinitely. My fave of the Versace line. I can see this being one of the few scents I'm not afraid to "crank up" when I go out. I think everyone should own one Versace scent, for those occasions where you want to give off a slightly vulgar, slightly menacing vibe. I like Dreamer, but its not one I wear much, because it comes off kind of floral on me. Black Jeans is a five star scent in my book.

I have to admit it:

I've gone smelly-free for about a month. Why? I had to temporarily stop my smelly habit due to a major surgery. Trust me: the surgery wasn't pleasant. It's also the reason that you haven't heard from me much here on Basenotes. (I'd rather not get into further detail about my major surgery.)

But, I'm almost back to normal now, so I decided to start smelling good again. Since most of my smellies are at our other house 2 hours away, I'm pretty much stuck with just samples.

Fortunately, I had a little sample of Mugler Cologne that was leftover from a shopping trip a friend and I took to Saks during my first year of college. (I bought some Violet Angel for my Mom there, and they threw in the samples for me.)

The verdict? It's good to have an old friend again.

My new CdG Zagorsk. This smells so much like something else I've smelled along the way. Wish I could remember what it is.

This was almost my SOTD as well. It's one of my faves. At the last moment I decided on Lanvin l'Homme instead.

L'Anarchiste... that print ad with a Lit matchstcik is stuck in my head..and
all the descriprions I heard about it before, were right on the money. the orange-metallic topnotes
and its subtle whiffs later that comeback and hit you are nice. It is not necessarily feminine but I think a woman can still pull this off.
