Don't even bother with FragranceX

As a new member to this site, I am curious where the savvy members purchase their fragrances on-line. What are the best and most reliable sites? Is it "safe" to buy scents (particularly vintage) on ebay? I live in the Mid-west and do not have a lot of places locally to shop for unique and rare scents. I'm wondering if there are any guidelines to help insure that what you purchase is legitimate and unaltered. Thanks for any input.

Sorry; I just noticed there is a forum that covers this issue. I'd delete this post, but don't know how. Thanks.

I mostly use discount fragrance websites like fragrancex.com and fragrancenet.com. I only use eBay if the scent is discontinued and would be extremely difficult to get. If you use eBay, make sure they are top rated sellers (gold ribbon next to their name). eBay is notorious for fake fragrances so be very careful in your purchase.

ebay, beautyencounter, fragrancenet, amazon (only direct, not third party sellers) - these are the ones i use

FragranceNet has been amazing.

+1 FragranceNet (use basenotes coupon for more discount)
+1 Amazon.com (direct, not third party)

Use can also use ebates for both for additional cash back reward.

For samples, I use The Perfumed Court, Surrender To Chance, and Aedes.

How does one obtain the BaseNotes coupon code at Fragrance Net?

The coupon code IS the word "basenotes", just put that in when you're checking out, I think it's good for 15% off.

Parfum1 for all around service and selection IMO.

There are usually coupons floating around for 20% off fragrancenet which is better than the basenotes coupon.

For harder to find fragrances, especially, I like LuckyScent. I have also used Amazon and had no problems.

I think you are mostly talking about US sites.
I live in Asia and have happily ordered from the German website, http://www.ausliebezumduft.de/duefte.html
I am completely satisfied with their service.

http://www.scentmonkey.com/. Has been the best for me so far, the shipping was A+, they have office hours where an American employee will answer any questions you have, and i have ordered about 7 bottles from them and each time the juice has smelled fresh.

I have bought from a few other sites, some mentioned above, and sometimes the juice was clearly old and lost its top notes and sometimes the juice was just fine. But w http://www.scentmonkey.com/ all aspects ruled.

There's a 20% code at FragNet = DMPF2

Does anyone know it they will allow two coupon codes? Or if they sometimes run free shipping on everything promotions?
I've had few problems with Perfumania, and they actually allow two coupon codes and offer free shipping with minimum $50 purchases rather than $75, which Fragrancenet offers. But I've used both and have no complaints thus far. Perfumania is quicker in terms of shipping and they've started a 'rewards' program now, spend $200 and get $10 off your next purchase. And they offer 7% back through ebates, Fragrancenet is at 6% at the moment.

I have been lurking the forum for some time and mostly people are talking about fragrancenet , strawberrynet and fragrancex.
Must be the biggest companies out there. I can only testify for my order with fragrancex, who went without a hitch.

PS: didnt know about amazon, i guess their quick shipping must be the biggest advantage
