Positively the worst "staying power" frag ever!

Just got my package from Beauty Cafe today with the Men's "Charmer Trio" from L'Artisan. It includes 0.5 oz spray bottles of Navegar, L'eau de Le Artisan, and Merchant Loup. I really liked Navegar from sample, and was torn between spending $110 for the 100 ml bottle, or getting the trio for $82 (minus the basenotes discount of course).

I'm sooooo glad I didn't get the full size bottle!!!

I kid you not ... I've sprayed my wrist 3 times already with Navegar and within 15 minutes of each time, I can barely smell it! I'm sitting here practically sucking the skin on my wrist up nose and I'm getting nothing! I mean, I have some really short lived frags like Hermes D'orange Verte, MI, L'eau Par Kenzo, and Creed OV ... but at least they last an hour or so till I get to work. I won't even be out the door before this one disappears on me!

Is it possible I just got a bad batch or is this the shortest lived frag on the planet??

I did like L'eau de L'Artisan, but that seems to be fading a bit too. (Nothing like Navegar though)

Merchant Loup is nice, but I can't think of a situation where I might wear it.

don't feel bad neither L'Artisan or Creed last on my skin at all. I just can't see myself shelling out big bucks for something that I am going to go through in two weeks.

Paul Smith
Can't be detected on me 5 minutes after spraying. Confirmed by half a dozen of innocent bystanders. Dollar-store knock-off's have better staying power.

Jo Malone Black Vetyver Caf (2003).

This fragrance is an afterthought before it hits the skin.

Navegar is fairly short-lived--it's one of the reasons I ditched it a long time ago. I don't think anything is shorter than Guerlain's Eau De Cologne Imperiale. Like a bad Nicolas Cage movie, it's gone in 60 seconds.

Poivre Samarcande - the best 10 minute fragrance on the market.

I couldn't agree more on L'artisan. Had Passage d'Enfour, or whatever, and traded it immediately because of its weakness.

Today I received a 1/3 oz decant of Premier Fig Extreme EDP and while it lasts, I hate it. It's on the swaplist.

Still have Merchant Loup but wore it once. Too weak. Will probably go to swaplist shortly.

Other weak frags for me...almost any Hermes. Helmut Lang Men I just received and loved, but again, straight to the swap list for the same reason--longetivity.

Give me almost any Etro or Diptyque for lasting power and quality scents.

See "Creed" in the directory for a list of fragrances that meet this criteria.

Caswell Massey Number Six

and

Eau d' Orange Verte

Both have, tragically, no staying power with me at all. I'm like Verbal Kint, going "And like that, he's gone."

Which ones from these 2 would be considered "daytime" or "casual" frags? The basenotes directory doesn't have much info on Etro, and it's hard to tell from the descriptions of the Diptyques.

I have a sample of Philosykos coming soon. Jardin Clos looks interesting.

Diptyque Philosikos has possibly the worst staying power, apart from Hermes Eau d'Orange Vert.

Tip:

Spray the juice on your clothes and see if it lasts. It should last longer.

I've spent the couple of years berating the staying power of numerous expensive niche scents, including most mentioned above.

Suddenly I don't feel like the lone voice in the wilderness.

This is soo strange, it lasts ok on me!
ETRO Lemon Sorbet is gone in 60 secs. on me. I love it,
but it just doesn't stay on my skin, that's why I put it for swap. Maybe it's all about skintype.

kenzoair, that lasts 15 minutes and then it's a goner

Armani's Mania= Gone in 60 seconds...

Jo Malone Black Vetyver Cafe-Creed Bois de Cedrat

On me, Tm Cologne(love it), Diesel Plus Plus(love it) and Eau d'Orange verte as well as Un Jardin en Mediterrane (love them) have unfortunately no staying power at all.

Armani Mania and Versace Jeans Couture

Let's not forget Gucci Pour Homme.

If Gucci Pour Homme is short lasting, I'd only surmise you've been given a fake.

: Gucci PH is one of the few scents I like that I would never buy because of its ridiculously short longevity on my skin. It lasts about 20 minutes on me, and I have sampled it at many different depts stores.

Completely agree. On me Armani EPH has no duration either.

Wow. This is truly amazing to me. I can understand light scents being destroyed by some skin type or other. But I wouldn't have thought heavy, woody ones like this one could be affected that way.

I remember not being too enthralled by the lasting power of Gucci Rush, until I discovered that it hadn't worn away at all. Instead it was lying dormant on my skin. A little bit of moisture reactivated it.

My Volour de Roses lasted for a very short time today. I put it on a couple of hours ago and the other frag I tested on my other arm (BdP) is still going but the L'Artisan is almost gone!! I guess it's just the L'Artisan company. I guess they just don't stay!

After all the hype on these boards about niche fragrances I spent a very long time over Christmas in Liberty in London sampling a variety. Eventually I chose Passage d'Enfer.

On getting my prize home I sprayed some on my wrist and shortly went to bed. I awoke in the early hours and there was nothing left - not a trace! My wife has worn it and again - no trace by the time we make the short taxi ride to the restaurant!

However, the other day I wore it as my SOTD (didn't want to give up too soon) and it disappeared as above - but then came back ???

Anyway, its one of the shortest lived of my current wardrobe.

However, scents from sister company Penhaligon's last well on me!
