Notes and noses for Armani PrivŽ collection.

Here are the main ingrediants (a max of 15 were used per fragrance) and noses for the new Armani Priv Collection.

Bois d'Orients by Michel Almayrac (Robertet).
-shinus
-pepper
-vetiver
-bergamot

Ambre soie by Christine Nagel (Quest).
-amber
-cinnamon
-clove
-ginger
-patchouli

Eau de Jade by Antoine Maisondieu (Givaudan).
-bergamot
-pepper
-vanilla
-neroli

Pierre de Lune by Daniela Andrier (Givaudan).
-blackberry flower
-mimosa
-iris
- new exclusive synthetic ingrediant called Belambre

Thanks for posting these, they sound interesting. I do wish Armani would release these in a discovery set like the Hermessences.

But what on earth is shinus?

I did a search, and both Rykiel Woman and Escada Magnetism (I think the men's) use shinus. It seems to be a peppery note; it's a common genus, it seems, coming up with lots of names like Peruvian pepper tree and such. Some searches equate it to pink peppercorns, but I think that's usually elemi. I'd expect it's a peppery note, though.

That first fragrance listed above is actually Bois d'Encens. I liked this so much I broke down and bought a bottle.

Eau de Jade is also lovely, but two bottles would have been overkill...so Bois d'Encens won out hands down.

As Serpent said shinus is pepper, brazilian pepper to be more exact.
