I need to update that feature to include Montale, Serge Lutens Palais Royal, a new Frederic Malle shop, Detaille... and I want to have a look at some of the numerous "tailor's" fragrances exclusive to old-style menswear shops.

I would also write about shopping at the Champs-Elysee Sephora on a Satuday afternoon but I don't want to be banned from the board for using foul language.

Use this link for telephone numbers and addresses for Paris shops:

http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/

Nom: Name
Adresse: Address, cut and paste from my article if you like
Localit: All Paris postcodes begin with 750. So if the shop you want is in the 7th arrondisement, type 75007. If it is in the 16th, enter 75016 and so on.
Dpartement or region: idf (Ile de France) will do for this.

Hit "rechercher" and you'll be taken to the correct address and number. Pages Jaunes also includes maps and (this is cool) photos of each building in Paris.

Montale boutique - 26, place Vendome, 75001 Paris
Little room and very friendly SA to talk with. They carry two lines: EDP that are fresh or spicy, and Oud line - which is combined with leather, amber, citruses, flowers, or roses-sandalwood.
Prices - 45 euro for EDP line and 55 euro for Oud line (50 ml). There`re 100 ml bottles also.
It`s not far from JAR Parfums. Just another entrance from Place Vendome.

JAR parfums - 14, rue de Castiglione, 75001 Paris
Hardly recognizable door of boutique. Very refined atmosphere in soft purple colours. Bolt of lightning on a ceiling picture. Unperfumed SA. Rituals of sniffing. Prices - 280-530 euro per 30 ml splash bottle. As SA told me - his owner does not ask him about sales, but about consumers` opinions instead. No advertising, no buzz, it takes an hour to visit that room.

One more Patricia Nicolai boutique - 69, av. Raimond Poincare, 75116 Paris.
It`s bigger and with laboratory in the back-door. Sometimes you could see Madame Patricia herself in that laboratory.
Also they have wider range of bottle volumes.

You might want to add the Amin Kader shops,
rue Guisard and rue de la Paix....for Santa Maria Novella.

"There is a slice of Paris, roughly the 9th arrondissement, stretching from behind the Galeries Lafayette to the dizzying railway cut of Place de lEurope...." Luca Turin about the Paris quarter where discontinued colognes can be found.

New Shop in St. Germain (Arr. 6):

EVODY parfums
63, rue Saint André des Arts
75006 Paris

Close to Métro Odéon (Lines 4 and 10) Follow Rue de L'Ancienne Commedie towards the Seine. First street on your right.

Régine Droin and her daughter Céline have a nice assortment of niche scents.

I just returned from Paris and some sniffing. I'd like to add that The BHV department store in the Marais has added a multi level men's store that has a terrific fragrance department, Lutens, Parfums d'Empire and many designer bottles. The Sephora on the Rue de Rivoli near Chatelet Metro has a Guerlain department now that has Derby and all those beehive classics.
The Etat Libre d'Orange shop on 69 Rud d'Archives north of the Marais is super friendly and quite sexy. They charge 55 Euros for their 50ml bottles there.

Does anyone know in which drugstore or perfumes shops in Paris I can find L.T.Piver's products? I know that they can be found in their store, but I want to know if I have other choices.

I checked Sephora, Nociba, Cosma and Mariannaud internet sites but they don't carry any of their products.

Thank you in advance for the information.

Mike C , I just tried to access your Paris Guide--is it under reconstruction? I"m going to Paris in March--hoping to benefit from your wisdom! Eager to hear the Sephora story.

Ascella--I love the map with addresses, You just saved me a bunch of research!

Ruffles, Moon Fish, everyone--great advice! Thank you!

Has anyone been to the Osmotheque? Any advice? I was thinking of going with 3 friends.
Thanks!

Glad that I can be of some help. Many brands have several shops but I only took the largest one of them. I have not been to the Osmotheque but I know that you have to book an appointment well in advance (and only Wednesdays and Saturdays I think), don't know how many they take each time but if there are not enough people they will cancel the appointment.

Good to know bout the Osmotheque. I have an appointment scheduled--thanks for the heads up about potential cancellation. It would break my heart, but t least it won't be complete surprise if it happens.

Just tried to make a perfect and detailed map about perfume places in Paris, brand stores and perfumeries with a list of brands. I hope, this map is complete enough
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...7e1d63590&z=13

You're more than welcome to add information and/or corrections .

However I am not sure about Saponifere - it was mentioned in Mike's article at topic start, but there is not that much more information about it on internet - does it actually still exist?
