I don't think it will matter how good this might taste, the price is a little hard to swallow: 6 and change for four 8oz bottles is the normal price. I first wondered about a cola-coffee drink a number of years ago, around the early 90's. I just recently found out Pepsi had a test-market for Kona-Pepsi back about 10 years ago, and now we have Coca-Cola Blak on the market.
As far as drinks go, it's not bad. I read reports of Anderson Cooper grimacing when he drank some on air, but it's not grimace inducing by any means. When you first tilt your glass (or bottle) up, you get this overwhelming coffee note blended in with a bit of the sweetness of cola. It's carbonated, but lightly so. It's not bitter, and actually has a taste or consistency of coffee with a bit of cream when going down the back of your throat (this is probably from the carbonation), with an interesting aftertaste of coffee that lingers a bit.
It will be interesting to see how this ultimately fares as both the soda and coffee markets are pretty competitive. This certainly opens the small niche of carbonated coffee drinks (there's been a few lingering for years), but I'd have to say I'm pleasantly surprised having had a lot of initial doubts. My only complaint is I wish it were more of the strength of an espresso--the taste is akin to a light roast, and I like mine Sumatra style.
