The steamiest movie ever that - - was good

I'm making a film entitled The End of Infiniti/Satans Rainbow (the title is yett obe determined) and it is a roller coaster of sensuality. I'm modeling the film (VISUALLY) after films like 9 Songs, and Pillow Book. Thus far screenings have people in sexual cramps. It pulls no punches and does it all artistically (or tries to ) BUT I'm always looking for more so I was curious what films wrapped people in sensual rapture. Films that were full of content and meaning not just pretty visuals (and yes I understand 9 songs, Blake films, and Pillow Book are gluttonous and not of much substance thats why I said VISUALLY inspired). I want to make art out of pornography, trust out of sensuality, and most importantly a statement against the repressed society I live in.

Cheers,
Ali

A lot of Tinto Brass movies push all the right buttons for me... Caligula included.

Ai no Korida (The Empire of senses) FR/JP 1975 directed by Nagisa Oshima
a true masterpiece of raw yet refined dramatical sensuality!

Keep em coming! Thanks so much, y'all are great. Some are on the money as far as relating to what I want to achieve aesethetically. Wai has such BEAUTIFUL visuals in his movie, Chris Doyle, his DP, is a master as well I've been studying "Fallen" which is sumptuous in its use of color. Tinto, though I adore the sensuality im Italian movies (like those of Bertolucci and Fellini), fails for me since neither the acting nor the story works for me in his gluttony. Caligula made me forget Lawrence of Arabia as I was shocked at O'Toole's turn. I admire Japanese movies and anxiously await watching Ai no Korida. I also am anxious to see The Story of O.

Cheers,
Ali

Hi Al,
Don't be too anxious about the Story of O - it was pretty dull in parts - what I found amusing was the way in which things worked out as the movie went along, particularly the very last bit.
