Guys,
I've noticed that I'm less interested in participating in the LPOTD thread now that its one thread with like 30 pages. We used to start a new thread each day, and it seemed to keep things fresh, it was easier to read, and though days overlapped- we usually had alot of good music discussions. Now with our current format, its too natural to just jump to the last page, and there's no real sense of day/time with that.
Imagine if we did our SOTD like that on the main forums, it would just all run together (granted there would be like 50 times as many posts each day, since each day the SOTD gets up to about 4 or 5 pages).
I just miss the old way, where everyday someone started a new thread, and there was more of a sense of "this is what we're talking about TODAY, so jump in and give your opinion"
But if you guys like the current format better then I don't want to wreck it for you. I just want to know which you prefer and why. I just like the old way better.
And I just wanted to say that because of the off-topic forum and the LPOTD thread, I've been exposed to so much great music. BlueDevil got me into Echo and the Bunnymen, Paul got me into the Decemberists, Dry_Martini gets me thinking about Joy Division more than is healthy for my own personal well being...lol. I really enjoy rapping about Saint Etienne, Morrissey, Pixies, etc with all of you guys.
Oh, BTW, which one of you got me into The Streets? You may not even remember, but you posted a thread on "Fit but You Know It", and it piqued my curiosity. And I don't go ANYWHERE, without "Original Pirate Material" and "A Grand Don't Come for Free". Best new stuff in years. Thank you!
