On my other perfume board, I think I'm the ONLY football fan! Anyone else think football season is the best time of year?

Go Chiefs!!

In a game I'd otherwise skip, I'm looking fwd to seeing how Randy Moss does this evening in his first regular-season game as a Raider. Â*And Saturday, waiting to see if Notre Dame sinks the hopes of my alma mater (Michigan) for a national title, as it has done so often in the past. I really wish they'd schedule this game for later in the season!

Cheers,
Jim

I love this time of year, right now I have hope. I understand that the Beloved will end up being horrid again as we have Kyle Orton taking the helm.....but even with that in mind, I know now that we're building for the future. Being in the heart of Big 10 country, I saw him play enough to realize that he has the skills as long as he doesn't cough up the ball late in two consecutive huge games. So right now, I have hope even though I know damn well that the Bears are going 5 - 11 if they're lucky. IF only their defense could play both ways......

The Raiders already proved they're in mid-season form tonight. Â*A billion yards in penalties, not running out of bounds to stop the clock, etc. Â*Yep, their team IQ has to be border-line. Â*

One of my doctors (a Bears fan, BTW) asked me yesterday "Shannon, will the Chiefs go to the Super Bowl?" I answered they will go before the Bears will go. And he laughed ...

Ahhhh the pure optimism of opening day, a day when anything is possible... if only for a day ...

I LOVE FOOTBALL SEASON!!! I for one, have great faith in my Bears. Their Defense is better than it was last year, AND so far everyone is Healthy! everyone is pessimistic about the bears, ranking them at the bottom of the barrel...but I think they will surprise and come out as the Dark Horse. Orton may be a rookie and he is gonna make his rookie mistakes, but i think he will be able to run the team much better than Quinn, Hutchinson & Krenzel did last year. People are saying they are doomed because Grossman went down, but I don't see it that way. In fact we don't even know what we have in Grossman either since he has only played like 6 games in 3 years? He is just as much a Question mark as Orton is. The Bears D will win them at least 5 games Alone. I will predict a 8 or 9 win season.

I'm totally w/ you! GO CHIEFIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

I don't think Grossman had/has much to offer anyway, and they're better off with Orton taking some lumps now. Grossman, to me, was a system QB, much like a lot of other great college QBs who never amount to anything in the pros, if they even get there.

It's my humble opinion that the Raiders need a quarterback. Soon, as in right now.

Okay... no one laugh when I say this, but.... GO NINERS! I'm pathetic. I can't help myself. I try not to care because I don't like the owner and so much other stuff that's gone on in the last few years, but old habits are hard to break. It's just hard to stop being a 49er fan after years and years. [smiley=cry.gif]

Here's to hoping a bunch of throw aways on offense (along with a kick ass young tailback) can blend together with a fast, aggressive and relatively young defense to bring some shine back to the Star.

Go Cowboys!

You've got that right . Collins looked terrible last night everytime he faced a bit of pressure. I guess NE's defense could be that good, but......!!!

Collins has always had streaks when he's been a little erratic, but the pressure he felt was due not only to a decent NE defense, but a horrible Oakland offensive line which constantly left him unprotected. Dumping the passes off actually was a sign of maturity rather than taking a sack or forcing throws for interceptions. If he had 1/2 the time Brady did, he would have put up some big numbers.

Yes, he's erratic and streaky. Big and strong but unreliable.

The NE defense is a force to contend with for ANY team, that's for sure. But still... I don't know, Bark. I didn't think the Raiders offensive line was "that" bad.

Or, say, fumbling? I would think he'd be more concerned about fumbles. [smiley=laugh.gif]

Well, maybe. Hard to say, hard to say. I just think the Raiders need another quarterback. I'd like to see them do well. They rate pretty high up on my Cheer Chart.

I know he didn't have as much time as Brady, but he's maddeningly erratic and still has a penchant for making horrid decisions and seemingly losing track of what's going on in games.

Not trying to defend Collins by any means, heck, I'm a Steelers fan, but his stats weren't all that bad if you take away the completion %. 265 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 fluke fumble/INT which probably wouldn't have happened if the offensive line wasn't so offensive. I'm not sure how many penalties they accounted for, but there were a number that were drive killers. I just wanted the Raiders to cover the stinkin' spread, which they should have if it weren't for a blown field goal and their self-destructing nature.

I grew up in Arizona and this is the first time I've lived on the east coast and I have to say football starts too late over here! I'm ready for some football but I still have to wait a few hours!

I have one simple question for the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets......what did the five fingaz say to the face?!?! Wow did Pennington look horrid. Also, I was shocked at how Favre looked today. I mean I hate the man for what he's done to the Bears in his career, but have the utmost respect for him and the game will not be the same without him. However, I sure hope that was an abhorration and not a harbinger of things to come. I don't want my memories of him to be this.... [smiley=undecided.gif] On a positive not I went 3-0 betting today

I can't believe I picked the Broncos. I can't believe I didn't pick Dallas, I had it circled, and said to somebody at the bar that I was going to regret it. I can believe Willie Parker. I can't believe Big Ben. I can believe New Orleans winning, as well as Tampa Bay. I hope I win next week. Damn, betting just sucks sometimes.

Pennington did look horrid. I would like to say that the KC defense had so much to do with that but that wouldn't really be the whole truth, I'm afraid. I'm not sure that he is 100% after his shoulder surgery and the dropped passes by the receivers sure don't help his stats much. As for the KC defense, I'm optismistic.

You watching tonight's game? I'm going with the Eagles.

I now live in Redskins country but I'm a die hard Cowboys fan. Looking forward to Monday night's game!
I say Cowboys take it 20-10
