Earthquakes

I was wondering if any Basenotes members felt today's big earthquakes, one in Indonesia and the other in Bangladesh. Milamber is in Singapore, isn't he? I wonder if he felt the one in Indonesia. My thoughts are with the families of all the victims.

I just heard about the earthquakes on the news a few minutes ago. When I hear about catastrophies like this, it always makes me think about the small things we fret over instead of seeking out the good and appreciating each moment we have. It is a reminder of how fragile life is and, for some, over all too soon.

My heart and soul are with them.

I'm afraid it's just the beginning. They'll be hit harder very soon. Geology reports are saying that.

reading about this catastrophe, and seeing the terrible images on tv, left me lost for words. This morning on the radio, I heard a little child crying in pain, in a hospital in Thailand. How many people have been afflicted by this tragedy? This is beyond the imaginable.

My thoughts are with these people in pain. I've lost my grandmother yesteday, my feelings of personal loss are entangled with this unprecedented disaster.

I don't even know what else to add. I'll give a financial donation to these people in need.

The death tolls seem to be at 50.000 now.
I have no words...

1500 swedes are missing for instance.

I pray for everyone affected by this horrible, horrible situation.

Marcello, I'm so sorry to hear that your grandmother passed away. it's hard to comprehend the death of one person, let alone 25,000. don't underestimate the time you need to grieve when a loved one dies.

Well the number of dead are now at 120.000, this is probably gonna grow to the worst disaster in modern history.
Please light a candle in your window tonight to remember and respect all those people.

Marcello, my condolences. Take comfort in the fact that she lives on in spirit everytime you remember and talk about her.

A very tragic event, but not the big one. The great China earthquake of 1975 left an estimated 665,000 dead and another 780,000 injured. It was a richter 8.0
