I know the guys sometimes hit these boards, but just to be up front about this posting, most of you guys probably won't have too much to add!
Anyway, I have always noticed that my sensitivity to smell seems to shift during, ahem, certain times of the month. For a while, I wondered if I was imagining this, as it is not always consistent, i.e., some months it is more noticeable than others. For instance, sometimes my favorite perfume will give me a headache, or someone else's perfume (which isn't normally bothersome to me) will overwhelm me. Or (gasp) I might not feel like wearing any scent at all.
Well, I looked around on the Internet and found a few interesting sites:
http://www.cf.ac.uk/biosi/staff/jaco...y/olfact1.html
Click on "smell and hormones" at the top of the page. (and be sure to check out the whole page--tons of fun info, actually!)
And, lord, I hope there is not much truth to the assertions made in this article, but I have seen similar claims elsewhere:

I've been on the pill for 10 years and with my boyfriend for 4--I guess I'll just have to trust my instincts that he is the guy for me because I'm not going to get off the pill to find out if my olfactory senses indicate that he is "the one"!! Besides, any guy that likes Creed fragrances as much as he does has to be the one for me.
Well, just wanted to throw the whole hormonal/bc pill issue out there--anyone else notice anything significant re: smells/hormones? [btw, I've noticed my mum hasn't worn Samsara since she's gone through menopause--I'll have to ask her about that!!] :-?
