Your mission, should you accept it.....

Having recieved a small sample of TM Alien in a swap today I realised that there must be some sort of perfume 'mission' sent out to all the perfume houses each year, Bi-annually or maybe every 5 years, Â*to make and package bottles along a common theme. Â*:-X

2004 / 2006 I think the profile read like this:

Type: Gourmand
Notes: Almond, Vanilla, Incense
Packaging: Masks, Aliens
Colour: Purple

Now see how many recent perfume releases, you can think of that fit one or all of those (loose) parameters!!! Â*

The ones that come to mind immediately for me are:

TBS Altaro = purple, gourmand, incense
Lancome Hypnose = purple, gourmand, incense
Alexander McQueen My Queen = purple, incense
Annick Goutal Mandragore = purple, incense
Miss Dior Cherie = gourmand
Chanel Allure Sensuelle = purple, incense
TM Alien = purple, gourmand, aliens
Idole de Lubin = masks, incense
Bond Street No.9 New Haarlem = purple, gourmand, vanilla

:

Any one else see the trend?

;D

*phew!* I am so pleased it is not just me going conspiracy theory crazy 8-)

I think this definitely shows / proves that many main stream (and niche) perfume companies are about the numbers, trends, and money rather than the joy of releasing orginal, creative blends for the individual's among us. :-/

It's exactly my point, too!

I add Armani Code Sheurple, gourmand(orange, jasmin, vanilla, honey)
Cacharel Promesse: purple but floral
JetteJoop Jette: purple but floral gourmand?(coriander, pear, pepper, iris, bulg.rose, musk, tonka bean, cedar wood)

I find it's a pity, everything getting so "global". The new trend! on cost of originality

I noticed a few red ones on Osmoz recently (Rose Angel, Cartier Delices, Bvlgari Eau Parfumme au The Rouge, Rococo Rouge). Â* Â*I think red is the next big color in fragrance Â*;D

There are a LOT of purple fragrances in the "new" list though! Â*I'm glad I've found Carnal Flower. Â*Nobody could ever mistake this for a "purple" fragrance!
