Can anyone suggest a replacement for L'Aimant

My aunt has been wearing Coty L'Aimant for years now and
I'd like to get her a different perfume. Any ideas? She's 82, a canny Scot
and very conservative, but with a dry sense of humour. Thanks.

The most similar perfume to L`Aimant is maybe Chanel no. 5, but if you want something different I suggest Coty`s Emeraude, or Diorissimo (Dior). These scents can be worn by girls any age, imho.

Hello, L"Aimant is a great favourite by Coty which I still get from time to time. However I would suggest because of the Lily of the Valley top notes Miss Balmain ( plus it was released around the same era.) Further to that Quelque Fleurs Houbigant, and for the moderns Champs Elysees is charming. The lady is quite right Lily of Valley is perfect for daytime freshness. Regards

"Age ain't nothin' but a number..."

I would recommend the following:

J.C Brosseau Ombre Rose L'Original - soft rose powdery very similar to L'Aimant
Dolce & Gabbana (Red cap) - Modern Aldehydic Floral
Caron Infini - Classic Aldehydic Floral
Avon Topaz - Classic Aldehydic Floral, discontinued but can still be sourced on line.
Crown Perfumery Marechale - Discontinued but still available sometimes online.
Caron L'Heure Bleue - different floral but still classic, elegant and powdery in drydown
Caron Nuit de Noel - different floral but still classic, elegant and powdery in drydown
Lanvin Arpege - 'Warmer' and slightly more elegant. more orris than rose. smooth.

as well as the ubiquitous Chanel No. 5 which is much more 'severe' and aloof than the wonderfully optimistic romantic L'Aimant.

Hope these help. Good luck!!
