Birch, pine, fir - what smells like trees?

I'm a little spiced and ambered out. Any suggestions for a fresh, outdoorsy, tree-like scent? My latest cravings

Are we talkin' green leaves and dry woods? I hope you get some response, as I'm not much of a spice girl and I seem *gasp* to be all flowered out, and going to seed.

Comme des Garcons Kyoto (cypress, cedar, teak)
Ginestet Le Boise (very woody)
I don't know about birch, but if you're looking for a candle, Henri Bendel makes a nice Birch candle.

CB I Hate Perfume's The Fir Tree- can't get much more tree-like than that. Also- his Winter 1972 has that outdoorsy, winter, tree and earth smell. Very unusual.

i know agraria has a balsam scent. got it as a candle on a trip to san fran. its also a personal frag. was good.


these all sound like things a guy could wear. sound very invigorating and wintry as i sit here in a howling blizzard wind so loud it woke me up. winds but not much snow here in connecticut. they've got a great store, richards, in greenwich was told it is like barneys back in the day. so thought i'd check out some scents while i'm here, and wil be going to manhattan, too. wil also visit cb in williamsburg, now. thanks for the info

I always recommend this, just because I love it so much myself: Guerlain Aqua Allegoria - Winter Delice. It has moist pines and firs.

EL's Private Collection smells like a tree. I wouldn't call it "fresh", though, it's rather deep.

Private Collection (Estee Lauder)
Winter Delice (it's fir and spices as far as I remember)
Bon Zai (Quinta Essentia)
Fetish (Quinta Essentia)
I also heard wonders about Seve Exquise, but, alas, it was discontinued.

I'm second and thirding Winter Delice and estee's Private Collection. Both wonderful pine scents. They are like standing in the middle of a forest with millions of pine trees all around.

Comme des Garcons:

Sequoia- smells like redwood. You get the wood, but you also get a green "canopy" accord.
Zagorsk- smells like fir and birch-I think this would smell great on a girl. Sad and beautiful.
Palisander-smells like a very deep red wood.

I don't know much about womens' perfumes, but these are unisex and are wonderful smelling regardless of the gender of the wearer. They smell very natural also.

I really wish CdG would do a whole series based on different "trees"

Excellent suggestions all Thanks. I have a decant of Winter Delice somewhere that I'd forgotten as well as one of Private Collection that Glo sent me ages ago. I'll dig those both out and poke around eBay for a couple of others. Sequoia and Zagorsk intrigue me.
