We've had whacky weather, skewing fragrance choices this month. From the coldest December on record I think we shot right into one of the warmest Januaries, but with the occasional 20* day and lots of rain/sleet and grey cloud just to keep us from getting too hopeful. It's been a weird, frustrating, yo-yoing, neither-nor month. It is not winter and, alas, it is not spring. What to do?
I find have gravitated to
AG le Jasmin,
L'Artisan Piment Brulant (a good one for you, dear Timberwolf**) and
06130's Yuzu Rouge (another one to consider, Timberwolf***) on warmer days,
The Different Company's Bois d'Iris and
Parfum de Rosine's Pousserie de Rose for warmer eves. And I've been seen spritzing
AG eau de Camille around the rooms as a home fragrance in vain hopes of hastening or at least simulating a real spring!
On the chillier and/or drearier days when I want a fire going in the fireplace and I leaf wistfully through issues of Conde Nast Traveler the way others read the morning paper, I have become addicted to
SL Daim Blond and
Molinard 1849's Nirmala by day and
Montale's Aoud Roses Petals and
Fragonard's Miranda by night and sometimes Nirmala again, especially if we are going out to dinner.
