You described it so well. Winter, with such a sparcity of earth/green/floral fragrances, makes you crave those notes, and sometimes the stronger the better, to counteract the cold ozonic air. Or sometimes the 'warming', 'comforting' fragrances for much the same reasons.
Your post made me want to wear 'Ivoire'. I like it the more I try it. Fresh, green, yes... but also subtle, complex, deep.
