What's your favorite woody scent & why?

Bois de Paradis? Bois des Isles? Ginestet Le Boise? L'Artisan Santal? Others?

Which woody scents appeal to you the most and why?

Or, are there wood-dominant fragrances that offend your senses? (For me, that's "ouch" Ciara.)

Of those mentiones, L'Artisan Santal by far. Dry, simple, clean but earthy at the same time. Lime, lavender, and sandalwood basically. Very nice take on the "I just smell freshly scrubbed with an exquisite soap" theme.

Woody, like in pine needles? Wrappings.
Woody, like in mood setting? Feminite du Bois.
Woody, like old furniture and precious carvings? Nature Millenaire.

Fresh Index Patchouli Pure. A great way to wear patchouli without smelling like a '70s head shop.

top: ginger, bergamot, orange;
heart: patchouli, cinnamon, pimento berry;
base: vanilla, amber, tonka, musc

I adore this.

Feminité du Bois of course!

A genius perfume. The atlas cedar note remains through all stages and is surrounded by fruits, spices and musk. I find it calming, slightly melancholy and highly evocative.

Another one for Feminite du Bois- she's just so true to cedarwood, yet has plummy top notes rounded out with spice and a touch of floral. It's such a lovely and unusual fragrance. I have nothing else quite like it in my collection.

Bois des Iles- for me there is no better sandalwood. The opening is jarring and bright but latter I get the most creamy of sandalwoods. This one is clean, a little powdery, creamy, dry and light.

Bois de Paradis- I never sprung for a full bottle of this for some reason. I love the fruity/juicy/berry-like notes in this one. The cedarwood is harsher but addictive nonetheless. It is sweet and strong but my husband found it piercing. There is something dark about this one that makes me want to sink into it just a little further. It has a remoteness even through it's sweetness. It pretends it's nice but there is a cruel streak...

Bois du Portugal is the ultimate woods for me! Smells like a tree trunk in spring! ;D

Oh yes! I forgot about that one! Haven't had a bottle since about 3years ago when Field's only started carrying it around Xmas-time. It is a lovely scent, have to agree with you there. To me, it's like opening a cedar chest for the first time.

Un Bois Sépia makes me want to hug trees! ;D It's the woodiest of the woody.
