Britney Spears Fantasy

I was told today by my Arden Account Executive that the new fragrance from Britney Spears for Fall 2005 will be called Fantasy and have notes of "essence of cupcake" and white chocolate. Advertising and packaging will be in pink and green and have Britney taking on the guise of a fairy. The bottle itself will be a frosted green globe with Swarovski crystals circling the top.

He said Fantasy will be marketed towards an older consumer than to whom Curious was marketed.

With THOSE notes and a FAIRY? Right. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. It should make for a fun launch party, though!

Well, just got a chance to try this today at work. Where to begin, where to begin?

When we realized what we had was Britney Spears Fantasy, it literally turned into a feeding frenzy as all of the cosmetic employees "curious" to try this new castastrophe. The first box emerges from the plain brown packing, and we see a montrosity of blue, white, pink and green. Not exactly the best packaging, but who cares right?

Our boss broke out on of the bottles to make a tester, and we eagerly waited to sniff.

Cupcakes. It can be only summed up as cupcakes. Not just the frosting, but the cake too and that smell of the pan when you're down baking. It's sickeningly sweet, almost like when you're a kid and you gorge yourself on Halloween candy. I could imagine using this as a room scent perhaps, I do love cupcakes, and I really think you could push this off on tweeny-bopping girls, which I guess is the point.

I know what most of you are thinking, "who cares!?" Well, sure it might not be the best thing ever created, but you should all, if given a chance, experience "l'eau de cupcake." Or maybe it would the Essense of Cupcake.
