Whatcha mean "underrated", Anthem81? Under-appreciated (disliked or bashed), under-marketed (no advertising or exposure), under-discussed... taken for granted due to over-exposure...? Here at Basenotes or in the world at large? Sorry... just not too sure how to answer. Help, please. :-[

I don't know Ladylonestar....all of the above :-/

Glorious- I know what you mean. I've already replaced Anais Anais in my head with Eau de Givenchy, which in my opinion is severly underrated, in every sense of the term. If they repackaged it and pushed it a little, I guarantee it would sell. It's just so pure and clean.

Fair enough! Let's see... Well, of those that I love -- so many really, but I'll stick with just one:

For women, Chanel No. 22. I think this should be front and center on the Chanel counters! (Runner Up: Dior Dolce Vita)

For men, Coriolan.

There really are way, way too many: Yvresse, Y, Dolce Vita, Poison (yes, Poison), No. 22, Aprs l'Onde, Chamade, Ivoire, Jolie Madame, First, just about anything Caron makes...

With the amazing assortment of scents out there and the fact that only a very few get carried in department stores, and even fewer of those get any sort of push by salespeople, and that most people out there choose from a very small selection of fragrances available, I'd say at least 95% or more of scents out there are underrated. It would be much easier and time efficient to ask what scents aren't underrated.

For women, White Shoulders. It's a scent dating back to the 30s or 40s that I don't see very often but I love the soft floral notes.

For men...don't laugh....Old Spice. No, really.

for women-bouidoir

for men - coriolan

For women- Fendi's Asja. It got discontinued before anyone even caught a whiff. The EdP is gorgeous if you can find it.

For men- Le Male- just because every time I say I like it everyone else goes, "Ewwwww!"

For the Girls: Apercu by Houbigant

For the Boys: Geoffey Beene's Grey Flannel

Ohoney,

Good choice! Definitely Boudoir - one of my favorites. I could never understand why it didn't just take off like wildfire. Very unique scent.

JAG ;D
