a local store has a clearance on the line... lotsa different ones to be had cheap, but I only know Duel... what's good?

Duel, Vetyver, and Hadrien Absolu.

It is sad, but Eau d'Hadrien, Eau du Sud, and Eau de Monsieur (citruses each) don't last on the skin. They're beautiful, but a disappointment because the fun of the scent is so temporal. There's an Eau d'Hadrien body/skin cream that preserves the duration of the edt but that's an additional purchase.

Duel, Vetyver, and Hadrien Absolu (which doesn't last too long either) are the ones that have really knocked me out.

Hope this helps. Which ones does the store have for cheap?

I've only tested three so far but I've found Vetiver and Eau du Sud extraordinary. And, yes, they don't last long, but I had to buy them anyway.

Good luck--scoop 'em up.

I love Sables above all others and it's quite hard to find in the states because of poor distribution. Of the men's stuff I also like Vetiver.

I like Mandragore best, followed by Eau du Sud and Duel; but I don't know many of them. The new women's one, Songes, is beautiful, but a bit too frou-frou for me...

Get Sables if you want a bit more staying power - around 50 hours plus I'd estimate - though it doesn't really project all that far.

I like Sables alot! To me it smells like Jicky (EdT) with lots of sweet and thick maple syrup thrown along. It`s great, and like it`s been mentioned, it lasts forever.

I think Sables is one of the very first gourmand style scents ever created. Yep, I actually consider it as a gourmand scent!

edit: besides Jicky, I think it has something in common with Ungaro II (without citrus notes, heavier load of sweet vanilla) and Egoiste (thicker, darker and sweeter), too.

Do they have Eau du Sud?
I want this one....That really is the only one I can recommend....Duel and Eau d'Hadrien are OK but just not as good IMO.

Of the AG men's scents I recommend Sables (warm, long-lasting, rich), Vétiver (my favourite vetiver, spicy and sea-breezy) and Eau de Fier (smoky and strong).

My picks are:

Eau de Hadrien
Eau de Sud
Vetiver
Sables

I own Les Nuits d'Hadrien which imo is far better than Eau d'Hadrien and Hadrien Absolue because where they tend to be very volatile citrus unisex juices, this is more longlasting and masculine (but not "rough") due to a pleasant cypress topnote and a smooth ylang-ylang&sandalwood drydown. It inspire the relax of a countryside sunset.

Both Eau du Sud and Eau d'Hadrien are really good and worth their money.
Yes, they are fleeting, but they have good reason to be fleeting. They are both citrussy fragrances and made of mostly natural ingredients, the latter being not so common these days. Let's not forget about that, citrus is just fleeting by nature. They make up for the longevity by their beauty. And trust me, you'll love to re-apply them...

Definitely Mandragore in EDP (pity about the bottle shape issue)!
