I want the new Givenchy Ange ou Demon now!

Surprised nobody posted about the upcoming Givenchy while I was away.

What a name! Ange ou Demon... angel or devil. Aren't we all.

This is a real come back for Givenchy to real deluxe fragrance concepts. A floral oriental in a bottle shaped like a chandelier crystal drop designed by Serge Manseau (who also designed the iconic Organza bottle).

Name: Ange ou Démon.
Brand: Givenchy (LVMH)
Nose: Parfums Givenchy's in-house nose Françoise Donche with Olivier Cresp and Jean Pierre Bethouart (Firmenich)
Packaging Designer: Serge Manseau.

Ange ou Démon is a floral oriental/floriental with white lily as a central theme.
top: white thyme, mandarin orange from Calabria and essence of saffron.
heart: maxillaria orchid, lily and ylang ylang.
base: tonka bean, vanilla, rosewood and oak wood absolute.

The UK will have it before anyone else on August 19.

See the fragrance section of www.moodiereport.com for more info.

Holy-moly! That sounds exquisite--and not too spicey for tender little me. Plus, the chandelier crystal concept is top notch. There go my hopes again, scaling Mt. Everest. Don't they know they will probably be dashed per usual?

WWD.com also featured an article about Ange ou Démon this morning.

Good news, the article explains that the new fragrance will appeal to an older audience than the one attracted in 2003 with Very Irresistible Givenchy.

"Perhaps it is a less young consumer than for Very Irresistible, [because] Liv Tyler is very appealing to young people," said Alain Lorenzo, Parfums Givenchy's president and chief executive officer. "It's not for a first-time consumer; it's for the woman who knows what she likes," added Isabelle Gex, vice president of global marketing at Parfums Givenchy.

Thanks again for the news from the Fragrance Front, Cedric!

I like the name but haven't been lucky with Givenchys so I have my doubts. But at least it's not targeted for teenagers pretty in pink and that's something!

I would love to hear what the training involves. I am fascinated that they train for an individual fragrance. If it is appropriate, I'd love to hear more about how they "train" for a fragrance.

Also I hope I get to sample this fragrance. The notes sound very appealing. I look forward to people reviewing it too.

Olivier Cresp was the parfumeur for Thierry Mugler's 'Angel'.

I had a chat with Jackie one of the Givenchy sa's,she went training for Ange ou Demon this week. Her comments where, very strange fragrance it starts all white flowers the lilies etc then after awhile the oriental notes start coming forward into the mix. She thought at first it was a white floral before the woody, spice notes came into play. The other sa is going training on Tuesday(this is my friend)and she said she will bring her bottle into work next saturday for me to sniff.

I've sniffed it. It's a little gourmond, fruity, oriental. I was expecting to be blown away by it but ......it was nice but.............
