Long Lasting Fragrance - Men

Thread Starter
Greetings All,

I am interested in your views as to the following:

What male fragrance is long lasting (i.e. you apply in the morning, and you can still smell it by 6pm)?

I would be delighted to hear from you. Thanks.

Regards,
Ash.

The infamous Joop! Homme lasts the longest of every edt that ive tested...Gucci Envy lasts a fair while also...i wish D&G had a EDP of By Man !!! (can u imagine how much it would cost? ALOT!)
Joop Homme is the longest lasting scent I've ever come across.
Joop Homme Aftershave Splash is the second longest lasting scent.

Then follows
L'Eau D'Issey
Boss Bootled (aka No 6)
A*men
Aramis
Lagerfeld Photo
Eternity
Envy

Chrome is the longest lasting citrusy scent.

And there are oddities like Sables, which is ridiculously long lasting - but doesn't really have much output power - you only notice it by smelling your skin. And Gucci Rush, which disappears after 2 hours, but reappears 15 hours later if you perspire.

I will also throw my props to A*men, Guerlain Vetiver, and Dreamer for their exceptional longevity. Other scents that last nearly forever on me include Caron's Tabac Blond (for that matter, ANY Caron extrait perfume), Trussardi Uomo, Tuscany per Uomo Forte, Serge Lutens' Musc Koublai Khan, and CdG EDP.

Hello, I am new on this forum.

I think it's not about long lasting, but lingering smell.

Are there male perfume which linger ?

I get the same thing with Nightflight as you do with Rush. The first 2 hours its super strong, then it disspears. Then with any slight perspiration, its back with a force!

Also to add:
Bogart pour homme (at least 12 hours - although Ive sprayed it on at 8 am & it was still there 2 am the next day)

I always recommend the first 3 scents from Carolina Herrera. Not only will YOU smell it when going to bed after a long day, but so will other people (...not that they should go to bed with you ). The projection on these are outstanding: Herrera for men, 212 for Men (the original in the silver bottle) and Chic for men.

And as suggested previously:
YSL Opium PH EdP
Montale Black Aoud
D&G By Man

Long lasting for me:

Terre d'Hermes
Guerlain Vetiver
Paco Rabanne pour Homme

I'm 3rd at least to mention Sables, but it has no projection & some people (not me!) hate it. Un Bois Vanille is very long-lasting and sweet but less weird. Also Labo Patchouli 24 works for at least 10 - 12 hours I'd say -- you might have trouble with the ultra-smoky opening but then it just gets dry and toasty-sweet.

I also remember Polo Green lasting quite a while back in the day.
Azzaro Pure Vetiver also lasts a while, but that is not a good thing.
Impressive lists. I'd add Rive Gauche Pour Homme and the bit of advice that if you spray some on clothing, a t-shirt is ideal, you'll get better longevity with anything, possible exception of citrus.
add gentleman, fahrenheit, habit rouge, paco rab ph, eternity, xs, aigner black, boss selection, aramis(classic), aramis 900, aramis tuscany, blue jeans, obsession, bvlgari extreme, bvlgari soir ph, Loewe solo(surprising but true), ES, boss no 1
post #34 of 39
Obsession for Men and Polo Green for sure but I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Dunhill Edition, which I've found has the longest staying power of any fragrance I've ever worn.
It might help to know what type of skin you have - generally, the more oily your skin is, the longer a fragrance should last. Obviously there are exceptions.

What frags last longest on you? It would be easier to gear a list based on what lasts longest for you, by other people for whom that fragrance also lasts well.

Out of my wardrobe:
Creed Millesime Imperial
Creed Himalaya
Dunhill Desire
Issey Miyake - L'Eau D'Issey
Roma Uomo
Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Barts [as I stated, it's different for different people. This one is notorious here for not lasting more than one hour, but it lasts all day on me.]

Of others I've tried:
Montale - Black Aoud
Tauer - L'Air Du Desert Marocain
YSL - Kouros
Bond No. 9 - Central Park
Bond No. 9 - Bleecker Street
Armani - Code
Parfums Raffy - Mogul
Parfums Raffy - Dragon
Cartier - L'Eau De Cartier Concentrée
Creed - Green Irish Tweed

and countless others.

My results are not typical though - fragrances that are fleeting for most seem to last much longer on me. Although, I couldn't get MPG's Bahiana to last more than 10 minutes on me - literally.

Iquitos and Carven Homme last a long time for me.
