What are some good Exotic/ Gothic scents??

I'm looking for scents that smell very heady, fiery and "gothic" Like incense, lilies, dragons blood, perfumes that you take one whiff of and know right away that it's a dark, exotic, engaging scent, yet not TOO smokey or patchouli-ey.

Any recommendations??

PS--- Can chicks get away with wearing that "Monk" cologne??

Have you tried testing "the lab's" oils?

They are supossed to be really good, plus you know the gothic feel begins with the kick-ass web site, hehehehe.
I sugesst you try a few imps, see what you like, plus, oils can be used as many other things than just perfume, ney?
Any way, if I had all the money in the world, i'd try everything from the lab!

LOL @ and with JoeJoe81.

Monk is dry, insency and cold, perhaps too dry for me to become a favorite. I did not smell any dragon blood or lilies in it, although the longevity of this scent is amazing. Need to experiment with layering Monk with a drop of warm, lush florals.

Fracas is the only floral that I find Gothic. The exotic tuberose/gardenia demands black clothes.

Patchouli is a gothic cliché but when it's blended like in Dioressence it becomes much more special. A green labdanum start, spicy clove and patchouli. For a skin-like smell.

Bois d'Armenie just came out at the Guerlain store in Paris, and Bois de Jasmine just gave it a very good review. Sounds like a possibility that's not over-the-top.

Geisha Noire and Geisha Rouge from Aroma M; Creed Angelique Encens; Messe de Minuit (for sure!)

Have to laugh about the Fracas- even though I don't see it that way, on another board someone said her daughter, who is a goth, only wears Fracas.

If you're going to go the Fracas route I'd say also try Kai, Montale Intense Tiare and Monyette Paris. Also Child- Child and Fracas have a lot in common on my skin.

If you can still find "Red" by Geoffrey Beene.. it's a haunting, gothic, 70's fragrance. Lubin's latest release, "Idole" is very exotic. Inspiration came from the islands off the Celebes and Sibuyan Seas. One note.. I don't know if "Idole" would qualify as gothic but it's certainly is exotic.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions!! I'm gonna have my snuggle bunny (JoeJoe) get me samples of Nu, Flower by Kenzo, Messe de Menuit and Fracas. Maybe that Idole fragrance too!!!

Boy. I'm out of it. Fracas goth? Uhmmm, OK..it comes in a black bottle. Kai, Montale Intense Tiare, Monyette Paris, Child? No way--have 'em all.

Goth... rich, complex, intense, scary sexy....Fumerie Turque. Smoky and exotic. Speaking of SL, if you can get your hands on a sample of SL Rose de Nuit...it's the only frag I've ever tested that left me emotionally drained.

Half of my buyers of MONK are women. Someone mentioned that it is "dry"... It's the first time I've ever heard it described that way... It is actually very rich with amber, musk, frankincense, lindenblossom, civet, tabac and yes, cocoa. I highly recommend that you try it for a gothic feel. Just ask me per PM and I will send you a sample and you can decide for yourself...

I have several suggestions that might not be gothic on the first sight but try out on a night at the club with fishnets, heels and heavy eyeliner and you'll see what i mean:

-Gucci Rush (Heavy on spices, still green an earthy and some soft vanilla in
the base, not too much patchouli)
-Voleur de Roses (roses, patchouli)
-Anna Sui / also comes in a very nice little gothic bottle!
-Cartier Délices. Snowwhite in a bottle.
-Angel
-Stella Rose Absolute (rose, amber)
-Fracas (cedriceccentric is so right...)
-Messe de Minuit (but be careful with this one, it might have a negative emotional effect on you)
-if you're into musks: Egyptian Goddess by Auric Blends
-Yves Rocher Pur désir de Gardénia might also fit a graveyard scenery in hot summer...
-Jean Paul Gaultier Le Classique
-CSP Amour de Cacao

Just saw on the other thread Aromatics Elixir, Hyponotic Poison, Opium and Boudoir mentioned. Those are all great goth-perfumes, too.
I made an interesting experience, once wearing Chanel No. 5 EdP wearing at a dark club in hot summer. It fit very well, in the end it's all your own imagination and how you wear it. It made me a cool and still fleshly ice-princess and rare men would dare to look into my eyes.

What about L'Artisan Parfumeur Passage d'Enfer?

It's the classic lilies and incense, white flowers on burnt wood 'fume. The name that translates to "The Way to Hell" is just a nice added touch.
