Gendarme Question

Is the juice supposed to have a slight yellow tinge or is the fresh stuff totally clear? Thanks.

The Gendarme V is tinged, but I thought the original was clear. I think I read on the Gendarme website that if the juice is yellow, its gone stale. Where did you buy the fragrance?

An outlet in Myrtle Beach. It's only a slight tinge, and what the site says is they dont add color, not that it's totally clear. So I'm wondering....

I recently bought the original Gendarme from Sephora. The juice is clear.

Do me a favor and check it out in bright light -- if yours is TOTALLY clear, mines going back. Thanks!

Mine is clear as water too.

My bottle is 4 years old now, and it's..hmmm... 98% clear. If I look really hard, I can detect the slightest yellow tint, but for all intents and purposes it's clear.

Just a head's up:

Sephora has marked all Gendarme's down again:

"20" 4 OZ for $18; Classic 4 OZ for $15. I can't believe it. Maybe it's because they're closing out carrying the line; maybe it's because NO MATTER WHICH ONE YOU GET, YOU CAN BARELY SMELL IT !!!!

OK, now I feel better.

hi Chuck- please cliarify something if you would: are you saying that these particular Gendarmes are very weak, probably because of having aged on thes helf, which in turn has caused Sephora to give up selling the line, or are you saying that Gendarmes in general smell unpardonably weak to you?

Just wanted to know before I decide whether to swing by there.
Thanks!

I recall some threads a long time back about Gendarme discoloration. If it smells good then I wouldn't worry too much. However, if you can return it an get it for a similar price elsewhere, you might as well.

Wow Sephora really is getting rid of its Gendarme stock, isnt it?

On a related note, Scentiments.com has testers for Bulgari Black (2.5 Oz) for $20 and Creed MI (2.5 Oz) for $59.

Problem is ... they're out of stock on both sizes of the regular Gendame. They only have the Gendarme 20 in stock right now.

Gendarme scents in general, not just Sephora's stock.

They frustrate me because they don't project at all. Oh well, at least they're good for work and situations where I don't want to offend.

Thanks all. Returned mine for a full refund. Frankly, I'm not that sorry. Bulgari PH is better and Mugler cologne WAY better IMHO. Unlike what some others have said, I think all 3 do the same general thing.

Has anyone tried "Mojo by Austin Powers" by Gendarme ?

I just noticed that my bottle of Grabazzi by Gendarme has a slight yellow tinge too, while my sample didnt. They both smell the same though.
