Thanks for connecting us with this gloomy but poetic text. (I happen to be wearing Miss Balmain right now.) I suppose everything seems more dramatic when it happens in France.

I wish he had said who it was that acquired the Balmain license. And, what does it mean for Ungaro III that this unnamed entity has also acquired the Ungaro license?

Nobilis is the distributor of Balmain and Ungaro. But are they the license owners as well? The hard-nosed economics of the parfume market are probably something the industry people do not like to talk about - so diametrically opposed to the fantasies they rely on to sell their products. I'd like to know more though
