Suggestions for a fresh, sexy frag!

Hi guys!

I have joined basenotes for nearly a year now and I have learned so much about frags. When I hear a special name I often can imagine what the frag smells like.

I am the type of person who changes his frag all three months, that means I am looking for a new one. I don't know why....looking for something better.

I know that I cannot get the right idea from a shop assistant because they often only know what smells good and what they have to sell.

My type of frag should be:

-not too sweet (like Pi, Amen ...)
-not too heavy (like D&G ph) I like this one but I sometimes think that its too heavy for a dinner or something
-it should be fresh but not one of those aquatics like AdG, Issey Miyake... which weak lasting power
-it should contain notes where you would say they smell sexy not just another good smelling frag
-it should be a day and evening scent which gets attraction

Ok now my opinions on different frags that I own and which I know what they smell like:

D&G ph: I think it is a good frag for clubbing when you want to be recognized, in my opinion sometimes a bit too heavy and overpowering, so that you cannot wear it during the day

Dreamer: Sometimes it smells smooth and I like it, sometimes I think that even one spray is too heavy because its too strong, I thÃ*nk not for everyday use

Platinum Egoiste: A fresh woody frag that's not bad, I sometimes find it too linear and dry

L'eau par kenzo: A nice fresh frag for the day, but it is not sexy, just fresh, nothing for evening wear I think

Gucci Envy: I bought this via ebay and I must say, there is defineatly a sexy note in it, unhappily it reminds me of older men

YSL Rive gauche: This frag was something I called sexy, but I think it doesn't attract girls of my age....

Ok let's summarize:

- a SEXY (not too sweet and heavy) scent which gets attraction but is not too strong for a guy at the age between 20-25.

Thank you so much!!!!

Geir. I would like to make another rec, which is Bulgari Aqua, despite that fact that you said no aquatics. The recent I'm adding it is that it has great lasting power, and poor lasting power seemed to be your main beef with aquatics. Both of those scents will get you noticed and are sexy, not to mention quality. I like Geir more but I think that girls like Bulgari Aqua more. They like both though for sure.

Bvlgari Aqva lasts about an hour on me.
(And is about the least sexy fragrance I know)

davidoff echo seems to fit the bill. meets all you said. give it a try.
the ladies like it too, and it lasts 10hrs+

Armani Code
it leans towards oriental frags (which you obviously like)
it is inoffensive, stays close to the body (which might be a problem since you're looking for something that projects way more)
women find it sexy
semi oriental semi woodsy, fresh, speaks class, definately an intoxicating one. Suitable for both summer and winter

the juice smells like precious woods, olive flowers, orange flowers, mint and tonka

How about Allure Sport?

I cannot find Geir here in Germany, I think they don't sell it here. Does anybody know where to get samples??

Please more suggestions!

I would second Geir. I'm sure someone is decanting a little. Also think about SMW by Creed. To me it's very fresh, very clean but has a seductive currant note.

Loewe Solo

It really depends a lot on the definitions of what constitutes "fresh" or "sexy". There is some consensus, but also variety of opinion. In my own collection, the "freshest", most "sexy" scent seems to be Tobacco Flower by Fresh. It's got good longevity and sillage too.

Geir? FRESH? To my nose it is too sweet to qualify as "fresh". There are several excellent suggestions of recent scents. I think that some old-school scents still qualify as fresh and sexy. Personally, I think that Acqua di Parma is fresh and sexy. In this case, I think the original is more fresh and sexy than the recent, excellent Colonia Assoluta. Staying in a classic vein, I also think that Monsieur de Givenchy and Signoricci both qualify as fresh and sexy. At least my wife thinks so!

An hour?? That's blasphemy. I don't care if you're an alligator, this stuff is going to last more than an hour on you. You must have suffered from some serious olfactory fatigue.
As for the sexy part, that is extremely objective. I find it sexy because of the darkness lurking beneath the fresh aquatic surface. I also know for a fact that women find this scent to be sexy. I think if we put our heads together we could come up with a less sexy scent...

Seriously - tried it three times now. On a hot day, it was twenty minutes. I'm going to try it again for Day 20 of my 20 Scents project, day after tomorrow.

And sure it's subjective - that's what you meant, right? - but to me there only lurks a syntheticness beneath the fresh (in fact, exact AdG-carbon copy) aquatic surface.

I have no facts, sadly.
Looking forward to a 'least sexy frags' thread, though!

Naranjito, let me make an application suggestion for Bulgari Aqua. It may seem like a bad idea because of your longevity problems with it, but humor me here. Try spraying it on from further away than usual. There was one time that I felt like overapplying it so I sprayed a lot on from really close to my skin and it totally ruined the scent. It was one of my favorite scents at the time but I panicked and returned it. Well, I have it back now, and with proper application, am in love again.

Oh, and thanks for the correction. Subjective is the word I meant to use.

That'll be the thing then. I'm working with a sample vial and am dabbing the stuff on [oh noes!]
(although the first time I tried it was in the perfume shop with a tester, which the SA sprayed on from a proper distance.)

I would recommend XS pour homme..

This has a very sexy feel to it
See how Allure Homme works for you.

If i personally want to go out in "disguise", i shave clean and use Allure. Bam! Instant loss of ten years.
Another vote for Allure Homme Sport. I would have recomended Agua de Sandalo by Adolfo Dominguez but i see that longevity seems an issue here.
Another one? Fujiyama Homme by succès de paris, essenza di zegna and emporio armani He.

Armani Code- has everything you wanted for a frag, downside: every 18-20 year old guy has it, buy this one and expect some girls to say ' Woow i like your frag' and others to say ' You smell like my ex-boyfriend '

Paco Rabanne Black XS- Sexy, fresh, girls love it, doesn't laste long on my skin, but then again it stays on my brothers for 8+ hours.. Again: lot's of guys have this one, not as common as Armani Code tough.

Maybe also try out Ralph Lauren Polo Black- this is a frag girls find very sexy, its elegant, it makes me feel confident when i'm wearing it.

These are a couple of non-expensive ones that should definitely get you compliments from 14-25 year old girls.

I'm going to recommend:

Creed Silver Mountain Water
MPG Iris Bleu Gris
Prada Amber

Guys... that dude has not been active since January 2007. He is not going to read your recomendations.
