Solid scents

Thread Starter
Greetings all: Now that we can't carry our fragrances on board our flights, thanks to the terrorists, how can one convert a special favorite into a solid version that is permissable? Is it possible to make up a basic solid formula with beeswax and oil, and then add a regular scent? Would that ruin it? I know that essential oils would work, but I'm thinking about something that's only available as the real juice, like my beloved Jicky! Am I totally barking up the wrong tree here?
Thanks for your advice.

I make solids for aromatherapy with essential oils so I don't know how it would work with a perfume in alcohol, I think a few drops of pure parfum might work better. Equal parts jojoba oil and beeswax shavings, heated gently over a stove, cooled down until it starts to thicken up, then add the perfume, so it's not heated more than necessary. Fill a little glass or metal container with the concoction, let it cool a few hours, and try it. Top notes won't be very obvious but the basenotes should definitely stay. A little goes a long way. Good luck!
