Just Bought Issey Blue

Today I was in a department store which was selling good women's bags for A$15 with the purchase of any scent. Fortunately they had a good sale rack, so my ladyfriend bought a cheap bottle of Escada something or other, to get her bag.

Being a thoughful son I though mum would probably want one as well. I checked out the rack and found Issey Blue refills for some travel set. It consisted of three refills with 20ml in each, going for A$10 (US$7.50). This seemed a reasonable price so I bought the refills and the bag. The top of the refill easily slides off, and I poured the content of one into a small atomiser.

Now I too can partake in the adventure of this curious scent.

It's always been one of my top frags.

Enjoy Renato - it lasts and lasts. Smells like baked rosemary focaccia.
Curious but delish!

I've been thinking about Blue for a while, since I'm a big fan of the "normal" version. Rosemary foccaccia, huh? It sounds too good to pass up.

I really like the Blue too... however the light blue, the L'eau D'Issey Fraiche, is a little too light for me, but works great in layering with the Blue.

I got the last one at Myers Southland. I had seen it at a higher price at other Myers during their recent sale. Whether or not they still have some, I don't know.

All of you may find the scent pleasent but thats not the case for me. My brother bought this cologne and I had a whiff of it. It has a potent medicine/sour smell to it. Nothing fresh... almost dirty.

If you check my posts when it first came out, I was less than complimentary of it as well.

I suppose the one thing I thought it had in its favour was that it was a different "blue" scent amongst all the "blue" ones that came out at about the same time, and I wasn't all that partial to most of them either.

Well, at least you found a purpose for the Fraiche.

I came across a bottle of L'Eau D'Issey Ete yesterday - it reminded me of Fujiyama Homme.

I'm not sure why they bother with Fraiche and Ete versions. As far as I'm concerned, Issey is pretty much a light, warm weather scent to start of with. Why one would want to go lighter escapes me.

Yeah I get that feeling too sometimes. It's almost that its so light you can barely perceive it. I'd have figured a lighter version of the Blue would atleast be 1/2 strength, but this is more like 1/4 strength.

I had been layering them w/ 2 sprays of the Bleue, and 2-3 sprays of the Fraiche, and have gotten very very good longevity.

Ive seen the L'eau Bleue D'Issey Fraiche...is this the same one you guys are talking about? Is this the lighter version of the Bleue?

saflyfish,

Yes... I'd smell it before purchasing. I did smell it and liked it, but didn't realize how light of a scent it appears to be for me.
