Looking for ultra cheap fragrances

Hi everybody,

as I'm currently forced to spare a lot but want to enlarge my scents collection in any cases.

I'm looking for very cheap fragrances like for instance Axe/lynx.

The reviews on the basenotes directory are pretty positive, but I'd like to have your opinions about them or about similar stuff available in Europe.

What do you suggest?

Thanks in advance. W

don't waste your time/money collecting those. Save up a bit. For the price of 2 or 3 of that useless garbage, you can buy some very decent fragrances off the internet.

Ditto. That would be wise.

I concur as well.
Completely agreed!!!
But I guess that, looking well in some shops, you can also find some interesting frags for cheap...
I don't know what you're looking for lately but, for example, there's a place I know that sells stuff like Grès PH or Romeo Gigli 50 ml bottles for less than 10 euros...
So "buona ricerca"!

Dimmi dove, grazie.

I also agree.

Don't ever buy Axe or Lynx, unless you want to smell like cheap, stale air. It is not a fragrance. It is a deodorant that is designed to give off a lot more smell than it should. They are terrible and girls don't even like them compared to a good bottle of fragrance.

Save up your money and look into some of the fine colognes we talk about constantly. It'll be worth it for sure. Some Gems are really cheap so you never know what treasures you might find.

OK. I'll save every penny for a Creed
You don't necessarily have to go for a Creed, as that would be quite a pretty penny. There are some good designer fragrances for pretty cheap and of decent quality. I believe there is a European equivalent of a store we have in the US, TJ Maxx. I think it's something like TK Maxx or something. Here, they sometimes have good bargains for designer fragrances. Maybe you can check out that store, or something similar. Good luck!

There was a good thread on "easy-on-the-wallet gems" that's still on the front page:

Buongiorno, Waldemar,
Benvenuto!

I hear that Roma Uomo is very cheap in Italy. It's one of my favorite fragrances, and I would suggest trying it!

Ciao!

Lanvin Vetyver L'Homme goes for about £10 round here.

Although I concur to save your money for some quality juice...but a great cheapie (IMHO it's good, but it's not that popular around here) is Curve by Liz Claiborne. I've actually been craving this one lately...

Before I knew anything about "real" frags, I liked Kilo from Axe. It smells the least like soap the whole line. But still. I just bought Bvlgari Black online for (drumrole) $15!! After shipping it was like $20. I saw a Gucci PH for only a little more. There are many more VERY high quality frags that are in that general price range if you look on Ebay or, in some cases, online shops.

If you want diversity, consider investing in decants or samples. That way you don't waste money on something you won't end up using.

Also, yes check out the easy on the wallet gems thread: http://community.basenotes.net/showthread.php?t=186814

It's quite a resource. Good luck!

Or,

I would get a good bargain from Yves rocher for exemple and wear the stuff for a while (must be at least 50%) discount to be a good buy !!!

some of the benettons are very cheap, what do you think?
Hmmm just noticed they have a 3.4oz bottle of D&G By Man on clearance for $80!! May be legit, but that makes me a little skeptical. And of course they have good reviews listed on their website, do you expect then to have negative reviews listed?

Edit: After a little research, the site is a scam. Stay away!

Try the basenotes sales threads. You can buy partially used bottles of lots of scents at very cheap prices. I often try out new scents that way.

The only Axe that is worth buying is Dark Temptation. It smells like the drydown of Angel A*Men. It's their best one and they obviously put a lot of thought into it. And besides, you get to smell the way this guy looks when you wear it:

My advice:

Get the Pierre Cardin Black 8 fl. oz for $24 on FragranceNet. I use it as one of my 3 Gym frags. It smells nice for such a low price and has pretty good longevity on me 6-8 hours. Certainly better than the Axe sh#t you can get !!!

I don't mind people making suggestions for inexpensive scents I suppose, but is everyone aware the original poster asked this question five years ago. I think he's probably chosen something by now....
