MPG Racine & Un Parfum D'Adventure

Hi everybody!

Today I decided to do a full test with these two fragrances and here are my impressions:
MPG Racine - Started citrusy with a lemon or maybe verbena note that reminded Eau Sauvage and a bit Ysl pour homme. Strong at first, It became subtle and weak in 20-30 minutes, spreading a nice woody aromme and at this time, It was really close to Eau sauvage, but a little sharper, as if someone had added more vetiver in it. 1 hour later, I can only detect it burying my nose in my wrist...It's a pitty! A very nice fragrance, with a slight old fashioned vibe but with no staying power.
Poor longevity is one of the major problems of the niche fragrances...

Un Parfum D'adventure (L.T.Piver) - Although It's not outstanding, It has a nice green smell that is surrounded at first by spices that reminds me of Joop Rococo. When it dries down the green smell becomes a bit floral and reminds of Versace Jeans Couture with a hint of powder. The fragrance has evolution but it's done in high speed because I almost can't detect it after a couple hours...

And you guys, what do you think of them?

I find Racine and Quimbaya to share some similarities.

Racine I like, but has longevity problems - I now think of it as
"Racing - to disappear".

Un Parfum D'Adventure lasts well on me, and reminds me of very spicy scents in the style of Piper Nigrum and Polo Sport Extreme. Unfortunately, my ladyfriend sneezes a lot when I wear it.

I must be lucky, Racine lasts atleast 8 hours on my skin. It's one of my favourites.

Or you live in a very, very dry place and your skin is very very oily!!

Do the other MPG ones last 16 hours on your skin perhaps?

Yes, most MPG frags last well over 10 hours on my skin; Santal Noble, Centaure and Secret Melange atleast. I don't have issues with longevity very often. I don't think my skin is oily, somehow everything just seems to last very well . I'm not talking about detectability; Racine is still going strong after some 6 hours on me.

That's interesting, probably something to do with less acidic skin than most.
Ever tried testing Joop or Goutal's Sables? I suspect you might get a week out of them.
.
I got good lasting power out of Santal Noble, Iris Blue Gris, Amber Precieux and Parfum D'Habit, but thought Centaure and Secret Melange a tad weak when I tested them. I'm annoyed I didn't test Racine more thoroughly, or I'd have bought Parfums D'Habit instead (when that big sale was going on down here earlier this year).

I've got to agree with Johnny. I get superior duration out of Racine too, but the drydown is of heavy grassy vetiver, not the citrusy top and middle that RCavs notes. I also agree with RCavs about the similarity to Eau Sauvage early on, but really, for me, the beauty of Racine only comes out after six hours of wearing--when the vetiver is turning itself to eleven.

I havent' thought about it, but maybe the other MPGs do indeed last twice as long still as Racine does. Route du Vetiver does, come to think of it. I just wish I liked Joop! as much.

Drats, I wish I could get out of Racine what you get - I just get a hint of it before it goes.
