Thoughts on Armani Code.

I tested Armani's 2006 CODE today and well very pleasantly
surprised. I nearly sniffed my arm off on the drive home (quite
dangerous, as I was driving!!) The opening notes of blood orange,
ginger and pear sorbet play tantalisingly with the seringa and sambac
jasmine before sensuously settling into a glorious, nuzzly blend of
lavender honey, vanilla and precious woods.
I have heard say that this perfume is similar to JPG Classique and
Lancome's Hypnose, but I don't own either of those, so I can't compare.
I have had lots of compliments today from both males and females, so this is obviously a people pleaser.
Do any of you love/know this fragrance? Should I purchase a full bottle
do you think?

I like Armani Code very much. To my nose, it's more similar to Classique than Hypnose. If I didn't already own Classique I might be tempted to buy Code. It must suit you since you've had so many compliments on it. You must smell great! Whether or not it's full bottle worthy only you can decide. If you're unsure maybe you could purchase a decant first. If you go through that and still want more, you'll have your answer. ;-)

I bought the 30 ml size when it was first released, to add to a collection that included Boucheron Trouble and YSL Cinema, to which Code has a strong family resemblance. The ginger note is quite prominent at first, and it settles into that same rich, nearly caramelized floral of the other two. I went through half the bottle quickly. The fragrance doesn't really register on me. I keep wanting more from it. This is not the fault of the scent. Good fall scent with no nasty surprises.

Paisley, I have Cinema, but don't like it as much as Code and
can't see a strong resemblance really. Maybe one reacts better with
my skin than the other. Your comments are appreciated.

Code reminds me of TM's Alien and especially of Cacharel's Loulou.

Cedric, I remember your saying this before. I agree Code is also similar to Alien in the drydown. I haven't smelled Loulou in years, however, but I seem to recall that it's in the same family.

Yep I have all three Lou Lou, Alien and now Armani Code and Code is a dear-ringer for Alien. But I guess that's just yet another reason I enjoy it so much...

Glad I'm not alone to think this way. LOL

Yet, this morning I sampled the new Neroli Jasmin by The Body Shop. It too is similar. Could be nice to layer the Armani Code edp over NJ shower gel & body lotion. Not sure if this line is already available in the States though.

I tried this today and thought it was very pleasant with good lasting power. But it seemed so familiar, like a lot of other frags out there. I think Alien is a little more "purple" and just slightly weirder, but quieter, too. Code could be a good everyday at the office scent, I think. It reminded me of a Creamsicle.
