Good morning everybody.

Serge Lutens' Chypre Rouge revisited and I still don't like it. I am willing to try each and every Lutens over a long period, but I don't think they made a scent for the last two years that is beautiful on my skin. Oh well, scrubbing and a generous dose of Datura Noir to help me through this rainy and windy day. Yes, I am still in an 'almond' mood.

So far, (just out of the sample bottle) VERY strange.

No time to linger over decisions this morning. I left it to chance - reached my hand into a bag of samples and came out with Bond No. 9 Chinatown (sent by a nice perfumista friend).

Top Notes
Peach Blossom, Bergamot,

Middle Notes
Gardenia, Tuberose, Peony, Orange Flower,

Base Notes
Patchouli, Cedarwood, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Cardamom, Guaiac Wood,

It's syrupy sweet, but the cardamom cuts through that nicely. A fun fragrance, though probably not what I'd reach for on a regular basis. I can find fragrances just as fun that cost much less, too, I think! :-)
