First full wearing of SL Vétyver Oriental. It reminded me of something. Yep dior homme. That same powdery irsis with a whiff of gourmand. A look at the notes confirmed my suspicion:
Vétiver Oriental:
Top note : Sap Notes, Pallida Iris, Undergrowth Notes
Middle note : Vetiver Root, Gaïac Wood, Woody-Accord, Chocolate
Base note : Musk, Ambered Mosses, Sandalwood, Rockrose Labdanum
Dior homme:
Top note : Sage, Lavender, Bergamot
Middle note : Iris Concrete, Cocoa, Amber
Base note : Haitian Vetiver, Indonesian Patchouli, Leather
The Lutens has a much stronger vetiver opening, of course, and it remains the elemental difference throughout, but as it settles down the similarities become quite strong, with homme remaining lighter and a bit sharper, the Lutens earthier, darker.
Has anyone else observed these similarities?
