Finally got my first free sample!

After nearly 7 months, it finally happened - a SA provided me with a free sample because, in her words, "I might come back and buy a bottle!"

It was in Mecca Cosmetica, which is a high-end shop here in sunny downtown Brisvegas, but they do sell some of the more hard to find frags. Serge Leutens & Comme Des Garcons for one. I was actually looking for a bottle/sample of Comme des Garcons series 4 Anbar, but she had actually never heard of that one. Maybe it is not available in Australia.

Anyway, I probably won't buy a bottle of the sample I got (CdG MAN 2) at near $200 a pop, but I'm so stoked I got a free sample!

Hooray! Something made me happy today!

you can get a free sample of the new old spice at oldspice.com

there is some thread about where to get free samples online.

I found that one suggestion, writing to fresh for samples of their stuff, was a waste of time (not too put out about it after getting around to trying them in the store) (and that reminds me their cannabis santal was all the rage around here for a very short time when it came out, now nobody ever mentions it)

but try some of the others!

Wow, Australian department fragrance stores sound really stingy! Also, how the hell are they charging $200 for CDG 2 Man?!?!? Even in Australian dollars that is a blasphemous rip-off! The stuff goes for $68 on Luckyscent for 50ml.

$200... holy crap! Thats highway robbery. It costs $68 in the US. WOW!!

$200!!!!! Mother of mercy! That is a bloody ripoff. That costs almost twice as much as the price in Canada. I could buy a Lutens bell jar with that kinda price.
