Tempur Pedic comfort pillow

Has anyone used the Tempur Pedic Comfort pillow of the slightly less dense, and more soft, Tempur Pedic Symphony pillow? Is it okay for a face sleeper? I am turning more now onto my back and need a bit more support for that than the down pillow I use presently. I used an off-brand neck support pillow with the foam and it left my head up too high.

At my workplace we sell the Tempur Pedic pillows, though I have never got to try the new one. I cannot say that I would reccomend the old one for a face sleeper. You would most likely suffocate and die if your sleep if you tried to breathe through that thing. But I will ask our bedding specialist tomorrow if we have any of the new samples of the Symphony pillow and I will get back with you tomorrow.

Thanks Thrax. Do you sell samples? Brookstone is where I laid down on one in a mall and the Symphony felt the best for a face sleeper. $99 is a bit steep to try it and it does not work. Yet, with imitations, you get all sorts of things, like to thick or not enough.

Update: Trying to find the non-Tempur pedic pillow that is just like the Tempur pedic is a crapshoot. The closest I came was the pillows at Bed,Bath and Beyond. Target, JC Penney, Kohls, all of them are inferior IMO. The combo memoryfoam/down or memoryfoam/microfiber all compress down just like a down pillow and there is nothing for me to support that crook of the neck just above the shoulder blades, should I lay on my back. The neck roll pillows are either too darn thick, or if they are the smallest versions, too small anyway. I have decided that there are two pillows, maybe three, at Tempurpedic to try.

1. Supreme pillow: Queensized, and has the regular tempurpedic cover and the other side is satin, to keep it cool.

2. COmfort pillow: This one does not compress down as much as the cheapo combination pillows, but since they use individual pieces of the foam, it is softer than the one molded piece. Problem is, it is not much cheaper than the supreme pillow

3. Symphony pillow - at one test in the store, it was the softest and the other time, it sat up higher than the comfort pillow.

I have bid on the supreme pillow at ebay and hope to win it for about $45 cheaper than what it would cost in the store. Sometimes, it pays to go with the original.

Otherwise, Ill just add a second cheap down pillow. They say in the store that they take two weeks to really adjust and that seems only fair, but heck, the neck rolls are useless unless I make myself sleep on my back all the time, and the cheap ones I tried from Kohls, fine like down for the face, but for the back, no better than a down one.

I had the bedding specialist show me the new pillow. Apart from the overall shape of the pillow I could'nt see or feel much difference in it than from the rest of the pillows. I think this would be best for someone that sleeps on thier back because the front, back, and sides arches up in a way creating a "plane" on the top side of the pillow.

I am trying two pillows tonight and tomorrow. One is a memory foam pillow, but has no humps and it has half the thickness, but inside of the foam are two air chambers you blow up with a bump to suit your needs. A Roho pillow, Sleepmatterz, Ultra. The other one I want to try is a buckwheat or millet pillow which they say you can mold to your head. Has anyone who is a face sleeper tried one of these?

Also, what are wool and cotton pillows like

Prices range to over $1900, just depends on what you are looking for really, and the size of the bed.
