Independence Day here in Finland.

Lily of the valley is our National Flower but since it's not among my favourite notes, I chose "something blue" instead: Hiris

Have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone!

22 degrees celsius, sunny.
I am revisiting my Chypre Rouge tester. I think I have caramelized pecan is quite tantalizing. I got good feedbacks from my colleagues this morning.

After all the hustle and bustle of yesterday I am seeking the comfort of soft spices and incense in the lovely Miyako from Annayake.

Why is this glorious scent a limited edition and so hard to find

Need some soothing after being thrown in the air and whipped around by Angel yesterday.
I am wearing Crabtree and Evelyn Avocado Oil body lotion layered with spritzed of Shiseido Feminite du Bois.
Mild, soothing, with some incense from the feminite du bois, which reminds me of a church, which reminds me of meditation...

Lovely. Yes, I cracked and bought a bottle. It's just so versatile, and it's got a slightly animalic chypre undertow beneath all the powder and citrus, which I appreciate. Also, the man who sits next to me at work dislikes strong perfume, so it's either this, Cristalle or Eau The Verte. Basically, I want to wear something without wearing anything. Oh, the agony of being polite.

Celebrate!

Happy Independence Day to our Finnish friends! Had I known before I lavished on FM's Lipstick Rose (Thank you Paisley! I would have scrounged some muguet - my birth flower and a real favorite.

But a half hour into Lipstick I'm not unhappy! Somewhere there's a video of a slowly unfolding deep red rose and this is surely it. A little bit of thorny green at the outset but now a nice in-your-face vanilla-ish ROSE! And I know the girls in the shop will too.

I'm lovin' it! :bounce: (Sorry, MickyMac)

It's Fracas for me today. And I do smell divine, even if I do say so myself! (Okay, so my 5 year old said it too!)

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for the wishes!

I looked for lily of the valley/muguet including scents I own in the directory yesterday, but the only ones I found were CdG White and Eau de Charlotte, and I wasn't quite in the mood for either or them.

The president's annual Independence Day reception will start on the telly at seven, the most entertaining part is always when people queue to shake her hand and you can get an eyeful of their evening finery and play Mr.Blackwell/Joan Rivers!

Etro Heliotrope, thanks to Shadesofbleu. This smells so smooth and COOL on me. How can it smell cold? I don't know, but it succeeds.
Creed Vanisia. Fixing to get cold tonight here, although no snow this time.

Happy Independence Day to our Finish friends!

Today I am wearing Clinique Chemistry Skin Cologne for Men. I bought this for my BF, but decided to keep it for myself. It may be a little too subtle for him. It opens with some rather sharp citrus (lemon, to me) and in about 30 minutes gets a bit soapy on me. But this is a soap I like. Clean and fresh in a pure white soap way, not overly perfumey. I smell wood and tea also, although that's not listed in the notes.

Top: citrus
Middle: jamaican ginger
Base: amber

A nice bracing scent with some warmth to it for a cool NYC morning. This is a totally unisex scent imo. A friend who works for Lauder told me a lot of the Clinique counter girls who are sick to death of Happy wear Chemistry or Happy for Men

Trouble going wrist to wrist with L'Instant de Guerlain, and a dab of Dat Noir on the left inner elbow. I'm convinced that Trouble and L'Instant have the same base. And I find Dat Noir very similar, as well.
Apres l'Ondee for me today.
Lanvin Rumeur on on wrist - haven't heard much discussed here about this one. It reminds me of another frag.?? So far, not liking it very much. UPDATE: Now I know why no one is talking about this one!!! I have a horrible headache from it and it's scrub time!!

Hypnotic Poison on the other wrist - definintely gettting Playdoh right off the bat. Can't wait for the drydown. (still playdoh but starting to warm up a little)
