Any good fragrance-free after shave?

Thread Starter
Hi all,

Can anyone give any tips as regards a light (not too thick-flowing) absolutely fragrance free after shave lotion / balm? I have earlier used Lumene Skin Tech (very nice, almost "watery" and quick-absorbed) but this has now been discontinued. Have tried Nivea but even though it is stated to be fragrance free, there is a distinct smell of something added.

Thanks in advance,

James

Is it the fragrance itself in Nivea, or the fear that it's going to clash with other fragrance?

I use the Nivea Sensitive Skin formula (in the white bottle) - whatever scent there is dies down as the stuff dries - it doesn't linger.

I like L'Oreal Men's Expert afstershave balm, which has the added bonus of containing a bit of sunblock.

Jojoba oil. All natural, just a drop or two (winter time).
I know it seems nuts to put oil on your face but this is different.
I even rub a drop through my hair.

mua reviews of one brand (not that brand matters so long as it's pure):

I use the Nivea for Men Sensitive Aftershave Balm in the white bottle. It just has the smell of the lotion really, not some added fragrance that is going to stay with you for a long time.

When I don't want any fragrance, I use either witch hazel or just plain old cold (as cold as you can get it) tap water. The cold water acts as an astringent.

Just about every skincare product from Baxter of California is fantastic. Their aftershave is pretty high quality stuff. It does have a citrus/menthol scent when you first put it on, but that goes away very, very quickly.

I use the Baxter toner, facial wash, moisturizer, and their lime bath bars. So I might be a bit biased =). You can find their stuff on the ususal suspects: Buzzskin, Menessentials, etc etc etc. The MenScience stuff is OK too, but seems way overpriced for what you get.

I've used many over the years and have found Aramis Lab Series Razor Burn Relief Ultra to be the best ... by far. Very smooth application with no stinging at all ... and completely scentless.

I previously tried The Art of Shaving aftershave balm and thought it was horrible. Very expensive and had a burning sensation upon application. It also left my face shiny as if I had Vaseline on.

I normally use The Art of Shaving "After shave cream" unscented. This one moisturizes perfectly and in general The Art of Shaving product range is recommendable.....

I use Nickel Lendeman de Fete balm right now.
Very effervescent!
And Biotherm after-shave balm before. Quite good.

I tried Aramis and hate it for oily residue...

Clinique post-shave healer.

It's quite expensive, but lasts a lot longer than the size of the bottle might suggest.
