Somewhere in the nineties I bought my umptieth bottle of Montana's first scent (1986), now known as 'Parfum de Peau'.

A Chypre-Floral in a gorgeous spiral bottle designed by Serge Mansau.

Well, sometimes you forget your treasures but they seem to survive

Chapeau to Montana: his scent smells as good to me as all these years ago :bounce: You only need one spray to smell delicious the whole day (maybe they can use this for a commercial? )

Notes from OzMoz:

Top note : Peach, Blackcurrant, Pepper, Cardamon
Middle note : Ginger, Rose, Tuberose, Carnation
Base note : Patchouli, Vetiver, Civet, Castoreum

Good Morgning!

Another Guerlain for the day: Insolence. On my skin, to my nose, this one has very much in common with the early Guerlains, yet being a modern fragance.

Yum, Insolence. I didn't expect to like that one after the top notes about sent me fleeing from the house, but it grew on me. That Maurice Roucel, he gets me every time (except for L'Instant, ew).

Tonight it's Ambre Sultan for me. Rich and warm and comfy. With a pot of tea and the whole of the internet to entertain me, I'm a happy woman.

We'd planned to go out today, but unfortunately, youngest son had a nasty epileptic seizure and now feels awful, poor boy.

Good morning! Another Black Phoenix imp today, this one is Viola:

"Gentle tea rose, lilac, Calla Lily, and Somalian Rose layered over golden Peruvian amber, Spanish moss, red sandalwood, rosewood, and myrrh, with the lightest touch of Mandarin."

The tea rose wins out in this one. The red sandalwood, rosewood and myrrh come out about 15 minutes later and are nice, but the rose is too overbearing nevertheless. I'm a rose fan, but still. Overall it's too sweet for me. If the basenotes were a bit more prominent this would be very, very good.

Hello all!

Lievje, I send big hugs to your son. I had a neighbour who suffered from epilepsy and he would come to visit me after a seizure because he just felt so crappy that he needed to be near someone. A good cuddle with his great smelling mum will surely help your son.

Twolf, my condolences. May his memory remain bright and a solace to his loved ones.

Today I recieved my package from Fragrant Fripperies. I accidently hit the "buy" button on Caron's Poivre (my computer at work was going cuckoo) but decided to go with it anyway. Boy, am I glad I did! I adore this! Spicy, warm, delicious. Carnations the way I like them, in all their spicy glory. I haven't really got to the dry down yet, but if I don't like that part I'll just keep reapplying, because the top and heart are divine.
