Favorite Designer frags?

I'm pretty new to frags, but I own a number of niche frags that I like very much thanks to pouring over B'notes for the last year. I feel like I'm missing some of the basics though. I jumped right into the Creeds and Malles and L'Artisans without every really investigating more mainstream frags.

I like some YSL (M7 Fresh particularly) and some Versace (love Black Jeans and The Dreamer). I just got B Men and love it. I really like John Varvatos. I've tried some Guerlains. And Lolita Lempicka.

I'm looking for recommendations for good designer frags that I can find and try almost anywhere.

Amongst easily found designer fragrances, I like Dior Homme, Gucci PH, and the Bulgari tea fragrances (The Vert, The Rouge, and The Blanc). Prada Amber PH, as another member recommended, is also good.

My favorite designer fragrances of all time, though, are Helmut Lang's Cuiron and Costume National Scent Intense. The Cuiron has been discontinued, but can often be found online, as can the CN. But, to my nose, they're heads and tails above most of the designer lot.

No collection would be complete without:

CK Obsession and Eternity
Guy Laroche Drakkar Noir
Ralph Lauren Polo

Christian Dior Dior Homme, Hugo Boss Baldessarini, Versace The Dreamer and finally, Chanel Egoiste.

Chanel of course. Particularly Antaeus and Egoiste.
Also try other YSL's--Kouros and Opium.
These houses to me are the most consistent and reliable designers for quality fragrances.

I like the Cartier line (well, Santos and Eau de Cartier Concentree). The others I've tried are stinkers, with the exception of Pasha Mint.

As others have already stated, YSL and Chanel are reputable houses. I'm an Egoiste Platinum fan (one of the proud few around these parts I'm afraid!)

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm on my way to trying a bunch of those recommendations, including a decant of Cuiron.
