If you had to change your name

If you had to change your name for some beauracratic reason, and you could choose anything for yourself, what would it be? I'm not thinking of a stage actress kind of name, just a new name for your regular life. I can't decide myself just yet, I'll have to think aboout it-- perhaps Anna Log Crocus. Then people wouldn't be so surprised I can't deal with computers, and I could be 'Dr. Crocus'. Yes! "Hello, I'm Dr. Crocus, and I'll be your anesthesiologist today. Just relax, and take a deep breath. These black leather straps are for your own saftey...." Whah, ha, ha!!!!

Dr. Crocus - that's hilarious. I'd love to seem some patient reactions. That would be a great name for a character on Scrubs.

As for me, I just read that post about the discontinuation of Cristobal.

I'm thinking Sylvia Plath has a nice ring to it.

I have never really gotten used to my first name, Eva. My relatives and friends have always called me Titti, which in Sweden is a rather common nick name for someone named Christina (which I´m not). But forget about Titti, doesn´t sound good in English.
I would feel comfortable with a name like Charlotte von Hohenzollern und Wiesbaden. Or not.

Well, now I'm dying to know what the heck you look like
I do not have the name I was born with , first or last name! Poor me, my gypsy childhood.
If I was to chose a new identity, I would be Ava Beauregard. I would make sure to wear matching red lipstick & nailpolish to go with such a chi-chi name.

I've thought about that a lot. I like the names Karmen and Illiana, but I can't imagine changing my name. I guess that I'd just go by my initials, RJ.

Heh... I have a funny story about that one. When I first went to kindergarten, we sat in a circle and we were introducing ourselves. there was a little boy who went by his initials, BJ or something like that. To my five-year-old brain, that was the COOLEST thing ever. When it got to my turn, I bravely said, "Well, my name is Rosalyn but my WHOLE ENTIRE FAMILY calls me RJ".

So it came time to Parent-Teacher conference, and my teacher was saying "RJ this" and "RJ that". My parents were like..."Uh, Roya? Our daughter's name is Rosalyn. Who is RJ?" Mrs. Garcia said, "But she said that her whole family calls her RJ..."

I was terrified! I was sure that I was going to be busted for lying, but my parents were laughing and everyone thought it was cute! When I get sassy, on occasion my family will counter me with, "Now LISTEN, R.J."

Lately I've liked the sound of Thais, with the trema over the "i", like in Anais. But I'd keep my last name because I think it's cool. It's very unusual. I don't know what I'll do when I get married. I may have be hyphenated.

Umm...never watched it. Just thought that Xander was always a pretty awesome name. Along with Alexander (not Alex!), Javier, Morgan, Xavier, Dante, Carlos and a few others. I think I would make my full name Xander Morgan Cross.

Hey, Shy, if you absolutely want your surname to be Crocus, how about Saffron Crocus??

Since seeing "The Usual Suspects" about 13 years ago I have been intrigued by the name Keyser Soze. But the question remains: would I change my own to that one if I could? hmmmm.....

All I can contribute right now to this thread is that when I realized that I would most likely not have any other babies (I have three children) and was longing for another daughter, I looked down and voila!
I decided to name my breasts.
The one on the left is Samantha, the one on the right is Geneveive.
Collectively, they are simply referred to as "the Girls."
We have a long and colorful history, yes we do!
