Miracle Forever and the "Angel Cocktail"?

Well, I was at Von Maur today, talking to the Lancome counter lady about the new (to us in the US and Canada, anyway) Miracle Forever. While I don't wear women's scents, I do sniff them just for fun.

I knew that Miracle Forever belonged in the gourmand category, but didn't know whether it was more like Angel or more like, say, Vera Wang's Princess. When I sniffed it, I immediately thought "if you love Angel, you'll love this; but if you hate Angel, you'll hate this".

The Lancome lady said "Well, I do see the similarity... and there's a name for it. A Thierry Mugler perfume model told me that it's called the Angel cocktail". To be honest, despite my love of Angel (women's and men's), I had never even known that such a thing existed... but it's probably the name for the berry/chocolate/caramel/patchouli mixture that gives Angel its hit.

Knowing this, I went right to the Angel tester. Yup... I could smell the similarity between Miracle Forever and Angel, but I also smelled a bit of the floral notes from Calvin Klein's Euphoria in the juice. Basically, to get Miracle Forever, take 2 parts Angel plus 1 part Euphoria. Save your money.

I think it's also the red currants in Miracle Forever that make it similar to Euphoria - but you are right, there are definitely some similarities between Miracle Forever and Angel & Euphoria.
