Being fickle, and worrying there will be an increasing rush to get the already disconinued Dunhill '34 and Nicole Miller for Men, I've deleted these from my signature. (Alert the media.)
I would however, welcome comments as to what you think of these, and much more to the point--
--WHICH FRAGS ARE ALIKE!
If not in scent, then in efffect.
Huh?
Well, for example:
1. DUNHILL '34 -- Supposedly a James Bond fave--don't ask me which novel. It's a very warm, masculine, and smooth concoction of florals with a leather base.
The smoothness also makes it appropiate for romantic encounters.
Haven't found anything remotely like it, at least not the floral and leather part (Please God, don't have anyone suggest Bandit)
There are other strong 'masculine powehouse' frags that are meant to be worn with suit and tie, but most are in the fungus/oakmoss/chypre/hello-drakkar noir1980's dept.
Still, there are some non-fungal standouts such as Vintage Tabarome and Blenhim Bouquet, or Tuscany/Etruscan, but to my nose, while they're great frags, they're more suited to a confrontation, from fist fights, corporate takeovers, or establishing any sort of Alpha male dominance.
I would not call them smooth amd warm.
Hmm . . .I am at a loss.
Eucris perhaps? One of the Ungaros? Creed's OV? Serge's MKK(???)
--What?
2. HIMALAYA---Or tap dancing in heaven . . .
Silver Mountain Water? Paco's XS? Geir? Habit Rouge in winter? You tell me.
3. NICOLLE MILLER FOR MEN---Fruity and boozy with a romantic bitersweet tragic feel, like long lost loves . . .
Rocabar? Vintage Varvatos? Le Roy Soleil on a cloudy day? Rocher's Homme Nature on a cloudy and rainy day?
Erolfa by the seashore?
*sigh*
4. BULGARI BLACK---Urban high tech super cool.
Far more complex than SMN's Nostalgia, imho. Being readily available, it's prone to being ignored by the niche-snob crowd.
My review: " I can picture Darth Vader wearing this one! Unisex? This may be Bvlgari's most masculine cologne. It's certainly its best. Though I can also picture Mrs. Emma Peel wearing it, as she counsels Steed to always keep his bowler on in times of stress and watch out for diabolical masterminds. . ."
Er . . .Antaeus?
Ah, Well . . .
5. GUERLIAN VETIVER--Another 'freedom personified' upbeat frag/masterpiece. ( I use L'Occitane if I'm bummed out )
Hmm . . .I dunno, another great vetiver?
6. MINOTAURE---Granted, in overdose, this can smell like orange-sweet/sour candy with a kind of ambergris.
Ambergris?--Well, if the whale in question swallowed Paloma Picasso and The Bull bull before regurgitating, yeah. Wtf, it's a Latin Babe Magnet and I'm Latin, so there.
Roma Uomo?
Yes.
And?
7.ANTAEUS---You don't have to be tall, dark and handsome to wear it but (ahem) I've found that if I wear anything else at night, it's usually a mistake.
Sophisticated and mysterious, the ultimate non-adolescent, non-mamma's boy scent.
Er . .Bulgari Black? Royal English Leather?
Suggestions, please. (For any one of these)
Thx in advance,
Mario
