Fans of Bulgari Black?

I'm new to fragrances but BB is my absolute favorite thus far. I loved it's smoky aura and tamed sweetness. If you liked BB best as your non-niche frag, what else did like liked almost as much? I hope to get ideas of which scents to test next.

I'm sure I will like Body Kouros as well, but I'm afraid it'll be too sweet for me. Since I only wear cologne to school, strong sweet stuff would probably offend many of my classmates since my classrooms are packed with 100+ students.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I am not a great fan of BB; but I would recommend Le Labo Patchouli 24 and SMN Nostalgia for variations of the "rubber" theme.

Bulgari Black = Gucci Pour Homme = Comme de Garcons 2 Man...in my opinion

I've had to separate my bottles of Bvlgari Black and Gaultier2. They frequently get into fights as to which one I love the best .

For something kinda similar to BB, seek out Perry Ellis 360 Black. It's similar, and can be obtained on the cheap.

I Love B Black! Totally evil fragrance!

How????

The smell of burned PVC rubber from the sex stores(Black) smells like Incense & Pencil Shavings(Pour Homme)?

Bulgari Black was one I tested today. Came across very weak for me, both on the test card and on the skin. Disappointed in that I was expecting better things with this scent. Will test it again to be sure.

As a choice for you to try, maybe Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme.

Personal taste. There are some comparisons that I don't understand either , but then I just remember that my tastes are kind of funky too.

I dunno... I never got the "rubber" note from BB per se, but I understand how some people can construe it as such. To me, it's more of a dark, smoky tea note with a powdery, subtle vanilla/benzoin sweetness and just a hint of woods. Even though it's celebrating it's 9th birthday this year, the fragrance is still every bit as avant-garde it was when it was new.

I'll second Perry Ellis 360 Black as a recommendation, but I don't think it shares as much similarity to Bulgari Black as many report. 360 Black is dark and fruity, with a sweet woodsy drydown, and remains subtle throughout its evolution. I think it's one of the best frags of 2006, and is often overlooked. Keep an eye out for it at TJ Maxx, where it can be had for dirt cheap.

You cannot miss out on Lolita Lempicka au masculin if you really like Bulgari black....i think LLau is just less smoky and has a tinge of more vanilla in it....Try it...

I recently compared GPH and CDG2M directly, and now I don't even think they are that much the same anymore.. The latter being a bit sour, brighter, and less.. catholic smelling, just a different type of incense. But the best difference is that I can see myself wearing CDG2M, which is not the case with GPH.

BB, on the other hand, I still am not sure what to make of it's burnt rubber opening.

I'm going to have to hit up the frag directory now. Thanks for the suggestions, and keep them coming!

Patchouli 24 by Le Labo is like Bulgari Black on steroids.

I don't think Body Kouros would be too sweet for you. It don't think its much sweeter than Bvlgari Black personally. You should try it. But remember, unlike Bvlgari Black, you have to apply it very lightly.

I find Givenchy Pi to be very similar to Black.

the note I love in Bulgari Black is the new tire store smell. If you've ever shopped for new tires you know what I mean. Especially when I was young and rode the tread off of the tires. Going into the Goodyear tire shop showroom was like heaven.

The ride on the new tires is also wonderful but oof topic.
