No, really - have you ever compared how many bands, albums and songs are out there compared to fragrances, fragrance notes and perfumers? The music industry rules 1000 to 1 I guess ....

I loved Joy Division when I was a mopey student and still have all their albums (having replaced vinyl with CD). But I really have to be in the right mood these days. I suffered a lot of depression in the past so I'm quite careful not to listen to any music or watch movies that will bring me down.

I seem to be a hopeless melancholic....(see my list for reference:P)sometimes I simply need to listen to depressing or sad stuff....If that makes sense. It simply makes me feel better!..and Joy Division...Well,it was like a revelation when I discovered the "unknown pleasures"album! But I know what you mean...It's a thin line somtimes

I'm one of those with a huge collection of music that makes this a bit tough. Also, my listening habits have also taken a turn toward the single/individual song thanks to the digitizing and ipodization of music. But for today I'll go with these 10 albums:

01 The Congos - Heart Of The Congos
02 The Beatles - Abbey Road
03 Curtis Mayfield - Roots
04 Pet Shop Boys - Behaviour
05 The Orb - Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld
06 Marvin Gaye - What's Going On?
07 The Wedding Present - Seamonsters
08 Nuyorican Soul - Nuyorican Soul
09 Orange Juice - You've Got To Hide Your Love Forever
10 Outkast - Aquemini

Hell, I need to do ten more to even feel like I'm doing this justice:

11 Can - Tago Mago
12 Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
13 Roy Ayers Ubiquity - He's Coming
14 The O'Jays - Backstabbers
15 Nick Drake - Bryter Layter
16 Deee-Lite - Dewdrops In The Garden
17 Dusty Springfield - Dusty In Memphis
18 Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
19 Happy Mondays - Pills N Thrills & Bellyaches
20 Tim Buckley - Blue Afternoon

God I could go on for days - Disco? Funk? Old Soul? Motown? not even represented here. glaring omissions. The cure? New Order? St Etienne? Sarah Records? Creation?
